My kids in my early class were loud and weren't following instructions so I had to blow the whistle on the end of my key chain.  I haven't done that in several years and it kind of ticked me off.

Last night I was making a dip that has to sit overnight (so it will be ready for Monday Night Football tonight!), and the onion I got was quite possibly the strongest onion EVER. My eyes were streaming most of the night and now I can STILL smell it on my fingers even after showering AND washing my hands with the stainless steel soap thing.  Grrrr.

Mandy, I know what you mean about the onion thing.  I usually can't be around them when they're being cut.

I love garlic and onions, and I cook with them so much that my hands almost always smell like them. Maybe I'm weird, but it doesn't really bother me.

Also, FI got his car towed Thursday night. Even though I didn't have to deal with it, it annoyed me.

I'm super tired.  Dog-sitting FI's parents' dogs is really wearing me out.  One is a 6 month old puppy, so she is INCREDIBLY hyper - she sleeps for maybe 3 hours at a time.  Then their older dog has diabetes so he has to have an insulin shot twice a day.  One at 6am (after a 15 minute walk) and one at 7pm - not that big of a deal, but he also has to sleep with us, and he always whines or takes up half the bed.Needless to say, having to get up at 6am and take care of the dog and then go to boot camp is making me REALLY tired.

I cut my thumb last night cutting tomatoes. It's the second time I have cut the same thumb with our beautiful, sharp wedding gift knives.

I am really tired! My daughter stayed up until 1:30 last night because the thunder kept scaring her. And than traffic was awful this morning!

I'm in dire need of a mental health day. I've been working so much lately, that tomorrow cant come soon enough! I dont know how many times I wanted to scream at customers for just talking to me yesterday. It nearly pushed me over the edge when the assistant mgr asked me: " Danielle-are you awake? Danielle!". And I replied with a, "I'm putting run backs away, and YES! I AM awake!" Geez lady! You can stop treating me like I'm 12, and if you need me to ring somebody up, ASK ME!

E-Pics tommorrow and I pretty much didn't successfully make any progress diet-wise.   I'm still working out as always, but I had just hoped to do more before our pictures.  Oh well. Also, I have a rather unpleasant doctor's appointment at lunch today.  Ugh.

There's a plastic jack-o-lantern on the reference desk, and last week it was empty and all the students looked so sad when they peered in and didn't find candy. So I bought a bag of candy and filled it on Thursday. I think I've consumed about half of it by now. And now I really want tortilla chips with Velveeta/Rotel queso. I don't know why, but I do.

FI and I went to Lubbock for his fraternity alumni weekend.  I have never been and he was super excited to show me around.  1.  Tech lost, so he and his buddies were all grouchy. 2.  The SECOND we walked in the door this girl was all "OOOOMMMMGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!  IS THAT NICK???!!!! SQWEEEEEE!!!!!!"  And every girl after that was the same. I normally am just a healthy-dose of jealous girl, but it was ALL night.  grrrr.

    1. I'm tired of my job search being dependent on Jay's medical school acceptances. This is getting old. The job search in general is just getting old. Will you call already, Baylor?? 2. Sam Bradford's season-ending surgery sucks On the bright side, I got to tour the National Weather Center this morning. It makes me wish I had the time, money, and mathematical ability to pursue a degree in meteorology. I cannot wait for storm chasing season!

Marissa, I totally feel you. Job searching sucks. I feel like I can't make any plans past the end of the year because I don't know when/where/if I'll get a job after this one! On another note, you've recommended some good weather forecast websites before. What were those?
  • edited December 2011
weather.gov It's better than weather.com (or similar sites) because the forecasts are done by government meteorolgists in your area. Most private companies do broad forecasts from one city (Atlanta for the Weather Channel) They are SOOOO much more accurate--ironically, private companies sometimes get a lot of their data from the National Weather Service anyway. spc.noaa.gov is fun during major storm events, as well

The A/C is out in our office building, and I'm starting to think the heat is on instead- the break room feels like a boiler, and the heat is spreading into my department now, too!
