November/fall wedding cake flavor suggestions?

Our wedding is November 14th, and when we did our tasting back in the spring we decided on yellow cake with a strawberry filling and buttercream icing (under a fondant overlay to hold the three tiers together).  I am now feeling like that is more of a spring/summer combo, and am going back to the baker for a second tasting to select something more seasonal/fall appropriate.  Two selections I was thinking of would be a white chocolate almond cake with a hazelnut filling, or a spice cake (not sure if a filling would be good with that though).  I am seeking other flavor and icing/filling suggestions from my knotties though!  Thanks.

You could do a spice cake with like a maple/carmel filling.

wedding is 10-17-09 ~ one tier of our cake is pumpkin the other is called 5 flavor pound cake, both are covered in & filled with cream cheese icing. The five flavors in the poundcake are lemon, coconut, rum, vanilla & almond and the combination is sinful :)

I love fall flavors and am baking a pear spice cake this weekend for a family get together.  Anything pear, apple, or pumpkin would go nicely.

CarrotSpice is actually not that appealing to many people but some people like it. It's a love or hate with no middle ground flavor. Red Velvet for the chocolate loversApple (with chunks of apple baked into the cake) and usually served with cream cheese type icingPumpkinZucchini (tastes just like zucchini bread. some people add chocolate to it)

Our wedding is November 1st and we're having one layer of red velvet, one layer of chocolate mousse and the top layer is carrot cake. I think both of your ideas sound great though!!

I think you should go with whatever you want, but one option I'm doing for my fall wedding is sour cream cake with chocolate hazelnut mousse filling and cream cheese frosting.

We're getting married in December, and we're having carrot cake, which would also work as a fall flavor.

I'm getting married in September. We wanted a fall flavor as well. We are doing 3 flavors. Top tier: Strawberry marble with french vanilla mousse and fresh strawberries layered in. Middle tier: White cake drizzled with ammaretto and layed with cannoli cream and toasted almonds (my FI is allergic to chocolate but her usual combo has mini chocolate chips mixed in instead of toasted almonds) Bottom tier: Sweet potato cake layed with white chocolate mousse and caramel The sweet potato is a great alternative to Spice. I personally love spice cake and we wanted something in the sweet potato, spice or carrot cake family. The sweet potato is more of a neutral taste compaired to spice and has a "normal cake" consistancy rather than a more textured feel like carrot cake. Plus with carrot cake you might have to take into consideration nut allergies. Chocolate is a great fall flavor and usually a crowd pleaser!
