Also? Working down the hall from your mom is really...neat. She just stormed out of my office mad at me because I was defending someone (a family member, no less) that she felt like talking bad about.  Sorry.  Not gonna get involved in family drama.  ESPECIALLY not at work.

FI and I had a passive aggressive/silent towel argument all week.  It came to a playful head last night, and I found his line of reasoning funny (and very male).  I know we should just say things when we think them, but I honestly get a kick sometimes out of seeing how long it takes him to get the hint.  I don't do it very often, but yes:  My name is Amber and I am sometimes passive aggressive.  And I feel no need to complete 12 steps.  Note that I am a mature communicator when it comes to real issues. :)

I don't know if this is still me reacting to the flu or what, but this whole week I've been so weep-y lately.  I just got all teary-eyed and choked up watching clips from the JJ Pearce Pacesetters half time shows. I miss drill team.  I'm not gonna lie.

Creating a wedding guest list makes you really consider (or perhaps re-consider) your friends.I'm seriously thinking about crossing two of my previously good friends off my wedding guest list.  Should be interesting since one of them is my MOH's room-mate.

Speaking of guestlist... I really wanted to keep the wedding small (100 ppl or under), but when we sent out Save the Dates, FMIL and FI insisted I add some family friends of theirs from Cleveland (yes Ohio) to the list, saying that "oh they won't come all the way from Cleveland, it'll be polite to send them invitations though."  Keep in mind I've never even met some of these ppl, but I was assured those would just  be "gesture invites" yielding no actual attending guests. Yeah, we've gotten a few "we're so excited to be part of your  big day!" responses.  Even one that said they were going to turn this trip to Dallas into their annual family vacation and then asked if it was ok that their daughter and son-in-law also come to the wedding (which FI of course said ok before consulting me!).  I guess I should be happy that these people are willing to travel so far for my wedding, but I feel like it's turning into a circus!

Mariah- So I may be an old arse, but sometimes I feel the same way.  I was an All-Star (Mesquite) and I saw one of the current girls at Wal-Mart yesterday.  I had this overwhelming urge to call out to her, "I was an All-Star!," but good sense prevailed.  I knew she would look at me like, who gives a crap.  Sigh.

Donna - this happened to me. MIL wanted to invite several of her Ohio relatives/best friends that I had never met (many ppl that were invited I had never met). She prefaced all of these people being "gesture" invites, but they ALL came. MIL's gesture invites got so ridiculous that I stopped caring. It turned out to be really fun and the random, gesture invited, OHio family were probably the nicest and most grateful guests we had. I just still get bitter that MIL knew we were paying for the reception, yet continued to bloat our guest list.

Emi, yes at this point it's getting ridiculous but all I can hope for is that they're fun guests that boost the atmosphere.  It's the same way with us, with my parents paying for the majority of the wedding (and ourselves the rest) but probably 65-70% of the guestlist is groom's side.  Oh well.

Amberpro, I was a member of the Mighty Maroon Band.  :-) I have one more.... We have some adults at our school that don't like the senior classes' ideas for prom, t-shirt, etc.  They tell me about it all the time and that's fine.  But earlier this morning they said it to the officers' faces.  That is completely unneccessary and it really upset them and ticked me off.  You're here for the kids--keep your mouth shut.

I've discovered that the wonderful thing about not having a huge family is that you get to invite everyone. I've been planning for 125, thinking that my guest list would end up being around 140. Well I just added some guests today and it stand at 126 invited. I'm sure there will be a few people we've forgotten who aren't on the list yet, but I'm very pleased with how it is now. So far we don't have to delete anybody!

I read a lot of statements from kids ranging in age from 13-23. And I have noticed an increase in the unnecessary use of LOL, LMAO. They'll put it at the end of a sentence with no puncutation, when the sentence wasn't funny, at all. I see it on here sometimes too. I find it odd. If something isn't funny, then why put it?

I really want to make Halloween themed cake balls. I have the ingredients and the time, but who wants cake balls from the Swine Flu neighbor??? Ugh... And I had to call most of Jeff's family earlier this week and tell them that I had "The H1N1" since we had spent the weekend with them. I felt like the sluttly girl in college having to call the random dudes, and let them know about the herp or the clap. Awesome.

I thought Stephie was trying out for the All-Stars now and got hurt before the wedding and was a little shocked and saddened until I remembered y'all were talking about the good ol' days.Yay Bananna!!!  I hope you enjoy your weekend.I'm really tired of others telling others they should be thankful for people who are toxic and horrible to them because "at least they are alive and you'll miss them when they are dead."  It hasn't been on this board but no I don't think I will.

emi - I am so guilty of that but I think a lol with a period after it looks funny...I think I put it to try and insinuate tone more than I think something is funny. If I think something is funny it's LOL! :)Maybe I should start putting smiley faces? But I prefer the random lol's than the smiley faces personally. But since I am an offender do I even get a preference or choice?! ;)

Julie and Steph- What a small world!  Emi- I think lol has simply turned into a quick and effective way to end a conversation.  ( I saw that in a forward that was actually funny.)  And, yes, way overused!!  Even by me on occasion.

I hate when everyone's in the boardroom enjoying themselves during our little "fall festival" and they're doing this "vote for the favorite food".  I don't hear a word of what people are talking about and then all of a sudden people yell my name and put me on the spot and say "what's your vote for favorite food"?  Dude.  I don't care.  I didn't hear anyone else's votes and personally wasn't paying that much attention.  I just hate being put on the spot and I hate how I always feel excluded from every single thing in this office because I'm the lowly receptionist and this stupid phone MUST BE COVERED AT ALL TIMES because who knows, the President of the United States might call because he wants to liquidate his account with us (he's not really a client, I'm just trying to make a point) and someone should be up here because we don't believe in voice mail until "after hours".  If I gotta be honest, the friggin' honey baked ham was the best thing in the office..and that's store bought...so...

Untsing...Now that I reread what I said, it does sound a little mean, but what I meant was two separate things. I guess I was rushing all my thoughts together. I wanted to know where he was from just because I wanted to know where the accent comes from. And really what I was laughing at was how long he drew out some words. He would say okay like oookkkayyy. :)

I'm pretty close to going off on these people that just happen to walk by our team pot luck and help themselves to food.  You have one of your own in your department, don't take stuff from ours without offering up something from yours. I've never seen your face before, but I see you're helping yourself to the mini cheesecakes that I spent my night making.  How about asking?

So we dressed up at my office today and went out to lunch. We were the ONLY people out that had costumes on. There wasn't even Halloweeny decor anywhere. People were looking at us like we were weirdos.Where's the spirit people?

I felt bad that last week we forgot to send Demaris (I can't remember her screen name but her picture is a one of her with her head on her fiancee's shoulder) off with wedding well wishes.  She did one for herself and I felt like a complete jerk.

I just cleaned house from a knottie on trash to treasure. Woohoo.  I got some adorable details for my candy buffet, all my rose petals, and 8 gorgeous pomander balls.  Yay me.   I also spent way more than I should be spending right now...

I spent I-don't-want-to-say-how-much on a new swimsuit and wrap today from Everything But Water.  They can charge whatever they want since they are the only ones selling swimsuits in October.  But boy, is it cute. I pray someone cleans me out on TTT after the wedding.
