cake tasting tomorrow

We're going to our cake tasting tomorrow and were told to bring along some ideas of cakes/styles that we like.

We want to keep the price down as much as possible. We are buying sheet cake for our guests and getting a little cake (6 inch round cake) for cutting, and a faux tier below it. I'm afraid to bring in photos of cakes (which all I can find in magazines are sooo nice and I'm sure also expensive) because I don't want decorations to equal a lof of added costs.

What would you suggest.. should I just take in those photos anyway or go in there empty handed, tell them our budget, and go from there?

Re: cake tasting tomorrow

  • Take in your photos and see if they can give you something with a similar feel in your budget. They will have a better idea of what you want. They should be able to make changes according to your budget.
  • Thank you. :) I will do that!
  • Definitely take your photos and tell them your budget! Hopefully they can design a cake that combines the elements from the photos you like while still fitting in your price range!
