Minis vs Regular

Ok, so we are planning to serve cupcakes at our reception.  My baker suggested doing minis, which are cheaper (she knows we're on a budget).  I worry that this might be tacky.  Pricewise, if we serve one mini PP, it cuts our cake cost by 1/3.  However, we can still serve 2 PP, and still have it be cheaper than the regulars.  Your throughts?
