Hors d'oeuvres - How many/person

Hi all,
I'm trying to figure out if i have 150 guests at our wedding - and 3 appetizers -  how many pieces per person per hors d'oeuvres should I plan on having?

    Are these for a cocktail hour?  Or the only food served all night?  If it's the former, what time is your wedding?

    This is a general guideline

    Cocktail hour (before a meal) 4-5 pieces per person

    Cocktail reception non-meal hour - 7-9 pieces per person

    Cocktail reception during a meal time - 12-17 pieces per person.






    What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

    My venue said enough for each person to get 2 pieces of each appetizer offered (this is for cocktail hour before a full meal).
