The wedding cake

I can't for the life of me remember the last time I actually sat down to eat the cake at a wedding. With that being said I was thinking of having to go boxes for the cake. My question is should I have the cake served as normal and just supply boxes for the people who would like to eat it later or serve it in the boxes and if they want to eat it they can or they can take it home?

  • You should definitely serve some kind of dessert at the wedding.  If wedding cake is your only dessert, serve it and have boxes available for people that want to take it for later.

Then what the heck is the point of going to a wedding!  I joke, but I also love me some cake so you bet your butt I will be eating the cake at any wedding I go to.

I would serve the cake.  There would probably be some upset guests if they didn't get to have a slice or two while at your event.  Then also have some to-go boxes for any leftovers.

<div>I"m with Maggie, I am all about the cake.  I really care far more about the cake than the dinner.  Keep in mind that you are shouldn't use your experience of "not bother with cake when you go to weddings" as your rationale for what you do for dessert.  You are talking a lot of money for dessert and it needs to appeal to the masses far more than to you and your new husband.</div><div>
</div><div>ETA - yes, you should serve it and have boxes available for leftovers.</div>
