Wedding Buffet

The venue where we are having our reception provides a buffet, with one meat entree, two sides, a bread, and a salad. Should we provide menus to the guests for this??

Re: Wedding Buffet

  • I'm really struggling regarding menus. In everyday life, I really like knowing what I'll be eating, but I've actually never seen menus at a wedding. And they're one of those things of more-than-expected-complexity. You have to write/design them. You have to have them printed. You have to get them to whoever's setting up your reception space. Do you want a photo of one? To save one for your wedding scrapbook? You have to remember that. It just doesn't seem worth it. For now, I'm sticking with my "Our guests are adults or the children of adults, and we're serving simple food, which they can recognize and understand when they reach the buffet." Also, because we've got LOTS of allergy issues among our guests, we'll have detailed information about the food on our website and by word of mouth well before the wedding, for people who actually need menu info.

So, I think we can skip menus.
  • I'm going to go with a menu on each table in a frame perhaps.  My tables kind of need some dressing up so it will put our touch on the table.
  • I think menus are a nice extra touch that will add to your centrepiece decor. Not necessary though if there isn't a ton of food options and you don't need the added decor.
