Informal food at a formal-ish wedding?

We're both really relaxed people and we love to eat! Our wedding is formal-ish. The guys are wearing tuxes, but my dress is very simple and sort of beachy even though we aren't having a beach wedding. We're getting married in a small, intimate chapel. Our invitations were also less formal than others I have seen...

Do you think it would be weird to serve "comfort foods" at this type of wedding?

We were thinking about barbeque beef sandwiches, macaroni and cheese...

    I think that is perfectly fine. The reason we ruled a lot of venues out was because the food options were really NOT us... The venues were great, but we just aren't really into some of the "fancier" kind of food. No doubt people would probably enjoy it, but it wasn't us.

    I think whatever you want is great... It is your wedding. We have a wedding we are going to this summer that is a pig roast... I think anything goes, as long as you're happy!

    Do what you feel your guests will enjoy. Mine are the type that dread having to go to formal dining places and dress up. Yes FI will be in a tux (his choice, I told him he didn't have to). I will be in an A-line beaded gown. We are doing our ceremony at a local stable and the reception as an inside beach theme and the dinner" BBQ on the beach: Smoked pulled pork and chicken, all the sides, salad bar, and dessert bar. The LOOK is semi-formal but the food is fun and casual.

    We ruled out so many venues/ caterers because they only served fancy foods. 

    FI and I are casual, food loving people and we chose to go with comfort foods.
