When to buy my cake

I was wondering when I should start looking for a cake, well cupcakes actually. When should I meet with the baker and choose flavors? Like 6 months before? sooner? Later? My wedding isn't until June, so obvioulsy I'm not worried about it now, but I will be busy in sept due to work and nursing school. thanks!

    The bakery we chose books up fast.  We met with and book her in December for our August wedding.

    June is an extremely popular month to get married.  Bakeries book just as fast as any other vendor.  So if you have a specific bakery in mind (or even a couple) I would suggerst starting your search now.  You won't have to have the details ironed out for some time, but you will be on their calendar.  Plus, it will be one more then done and out of the way.
