That's not something we can tell from a photograph.

  • Find out the size of the layers and then look them up here (<--clicky).  Keep in mind, the guide assumes your cake would be cut by someone who was familiar with cutting 1" x 2" pieces.  Bigger cuts would mean less cake.  I'd be sure of over-order, just to be safe.

[QUOTE]Your baker can tell you, but it also depends on how large a piece you want to serve. Be aware that bakeries consider a "piece" of wedding cake to be a 2x2 inch bit. I consider that a bite, not a piece. No way I'd treat my guests that way, so I ordered extra cake for my guests for my first wedding - and we had pecan cobbler for this wedding.

Actually, according to wedding standard a piece of cake is 1" x 2" x 4" (most wedding cakes are 4" tall).  That is 8 square inches of cake.  Plenty of cake.

<div>If you double that then it would be plenty of cake :)  But I love cake!</div><div>
</div><div>Edit:  Please take this post lightly and as more of a joke/sarcasm.</div>

Which is fine, but then you are paying for double the cake.

<div>I guess I should have edited my post to make it completely clear that I was joking/being sarcastic about doubling the size of a slice of cake.  I was just saying for me, who loves cake, I would want a piece the size of one you may get from Cheesecake Factory because the slices you get at weddings many times are obsurdely small.  I am no way saying that the OP should double the size of the slices.</div>
