Cold Food In Winter

I'm hosting a bridal shower next weekend for a friend.  We are doing a Paris, France theme.  Which is super fun!  However, I'm worried that we don't have any WARM foods to serve.   All of the food is cold finger food.  Does anyone have any ideas of something to serve that is warm and Paris related?  Or, can we get away with serving cold foods?

We will be serving hot tea, but I would like something warm for the brunch as well.

What about baked Brie?  Top it with fruit or nuts or oil and thn serve it with crackers or bread.  So yummy...

Do you have a slow cooker or a fondue pot? It's always fun to do melted cheese fondue with little treats like veggies, bread, fruit, etc. 

It might be a bit cliche' French, but it's still fun and encourages mingling!

I love the fondue and baked brie suggestions.  What about quiche?  I think Costco has frozen mini-quiche that you can heat and serve.

I also love the idea of fonde or baked brie too!  You could also try croque monsieur sandwiches - grilled ham and cheese.  Depending on your time and set up, there are also sweet or savory crepes or a soup that might be options.

I was just going to say crepes.........they are super easy. You could make mini-crepes and supply various fillings.

Things like puff pastry, you could fill with a warm filling, a warm tart, or Beef Bourguignon (if you've ever seen "Julie & Julia" you'll get it, LOL).

Ditto the baked brie suggestion.  I take a thawed sheet of puff pastry and a triangle of brie.  Slice the brie in half (hamburger style) and put some kind of jam and nuts between the two halves, then wrap it up and bake it.  I usually freeze it first then bake from frozen, 400 deg F for about 45 minutes or until the puff pastry is lightly browned (from frozen keeps the brie from getting to overly done before the pastry is done cooking).  Fig preserves with marcona almonds or walnuts, raspberry chipotle sauce with sliced almonds, apricot and pecans, the combinations are endless.

I also like the idea of mini quiches.  I have an easy recipe for that if you want to do homemade.
