Ribbon or no ribbon on cake?

Our cake will be 3-tiers with white buttercream and a tone-on-tone design of dots and swirls. There will be fresh flowers on the top as well as alternating on the layers and around the bottom of the cake stand.

Originally, I thought I wanted to add a satin ribbon around the base of each layer for a pop of contrasting color (if we did black), but now I wonder if the cake has too much going on and it should just be a white ribbon.

Thoughts about the ribbon (or no ribbon)?
