Reception Locations in Arlington?

Maybe something along the lines of a VFW? Our ceremony is going to be at the Planetarium at UT Arlingto. We were going to have the reception in the lobbybut it's too small for our guest list and I haven't been having much luck with the catering manager. I met with her almost two weeks ago and she was supposed to send me a proposal but hasn't done so yet. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I though there was a place for receptions at the student union or whatever they call that.  It seemed pretty big at the time. Do you want a hotel or other venue where you bring in your own caterer etc??

They do have a ballroom at the Student Center, but I'd have to deal with the catering ladies there as well. I'm hoping for somewhere a bit cheaper than that as well where we can either bring our own catering or have it from them for around $10 pp.

There is a VFW post at 3221 Howell St. 817-633-8332 www.vfwpost8561.org I've never been there, but they have pictures on their website, and it looks a little nicer than some of the typical VFW halls I've seen. There is also a community center near just north of I-20, off of Matlock. Big auditorium/ballroom, or a smaller art room center. I think they start at about $800 -900 to rent the space, so not quite as cheap as the VFW, but would look a little nicer: The "Bob Duncan Center" 2800 S. I had looked at places in Arlington, but the ones I saw were more than $10 person.  But those were Cacharell or there is the Ruthe Jackson Center in Grand Prairie
