Bridal/Wedding Shower Menu

I would like it if someone would please tell me about what you did for a menu for your bridal/wedding shower. I am in the middle of planning mine and am stumped on food. I'm going to have about 100 guests, all ranging from ages 18 - 60, and my biggest problem is, I'm on a very tight budget. I'm thinking I should do a do a variety of different types of foods to suit everyones individual pallets. Any ideas?

You shouldn't host your own shower.  Are you hosting this for someone else, or yourself?

100 is a LOT of people, and you will probably end up spending a lot no matter what you do.
You should have it around 2pm, which is a standard time to not have to provide a meal for people.
If you have a cake or cupcakes, the rest of the meal can be simple salty foods to snack on, like pretzels, chips, etc. You are still going to go through a lot of food, though.

I also second about not throwing your own shower.

For that many people have it at during a non-meal time (2 or 3pm).  This way you can just have apps and/or cake and punch.  This will help cut down food costs considerably.

I third about not throwing your own shower.  And I hope that the 100 people coming to this shower are also invited to the wedding.

Why are you planning your own shower?

Check out this link for some great menu ideas. We did the cake pops in our wedding color and the candy buffet which was a huge hit! http://www.celebrationideasonline.com/bridal-shower-menu.html http://www.celebrationideasonline.com/candy-buffet.html

Yeah, don't host your own shower.  If it's for someone else, have it at 2 pm, serve cake, a fruit tray, veggie tray, and other small, bite size items (dips, etc.).
