caterers and plates?

OK, newly engaged and I'm confused by how you rent flatware and cutlerry.  Do caterers have stuff you can rent or is it sometimes part of the venue?

It may be both, or neither, it really depends on the vendor. Our venue has this for us to use, sometimes venues have all inclusive packagess that will include all of this, and some may charge you for it. This would definitely be a good question to ask them when you start looking.

Agreed, it's totally dependant on the caterer. It's a good question to ask when you're interviewing perspective vendors.

ITA with the above responses. We don't have an "all inclusive" banquet hall, ours only provides tables, chairs, and a building. Everything else has to be supplied by the caterer, or we can obtain it on our own, from another vendor.

The things you have to have supplied, or rent: plates, eating utensils, glasses (for water, the bar, coffee, etc), napkins, table covers. Also, chafing dishes, serving pieces & plates for a buffet.
