My Strawberry Obsession!

I am obsessed with all things strawberry flavored...I really want my wedding cake to go as follows:

White Cake with Fresh Strawberry Filling
Strawberry Cake
Strawberries and Champange Cake


Is this too much strawberry? Is it rude to only have strawberry flavors? The grooms cake will be chocolate or something.

Normally, I would say not to worry about it b/c we don't always get to pick and choose what's for dinner, dessert, etc when we go to an event or even someone's home for a get-together, so if I were at a wedding where I didn't like the cake, that's just too bad for me.  You can't please everyone.  But since being allergic to strawberries is somewhat common, I would suggest having at least one other option.

I'd have one other option just to accomodate those who don't like fruit (me!), or who have an allergy (PP!).

Even though you love strawberries you probably won't eat 1 slice of each flavor on your wedding night.  Also, some people do not like strawberries or they are allergic. It would be nice t have 1 or 2 options that do not involve strawberries.

We had a strawberry filling for our wedding cake and a chocolate groom's cake. As far as I can tell there were no complaints.   Just offer both and call it a day.  And as a rule of thumb, balance what you love against what you think will be a crowd pleaser. That's the recipe for a great wedding.

I'm a big fan of strawberry stuff myself, but there are plenty of people who aren't. It's a good idea to have more variety :-)
