How many cupcakes

Hey Ladies,

I have some amazing friends who have worked in the catering/restaurant/wedding business for years and are going to help me with DIY cupcakes (baking, icing them and making sure they get the reception).

My question is: for 100 guest, how many cupcakes should I have?  1 for each? 

FYI- we are also doing a cookie buffet with dozens of types of cookies for guests to eat at the reception and well as to take home (we are providing take home bags).  We will also have mini pies (4 oz) as desert .  Also, I haven't decided specifics yet, but our favor will be some type of candy-

With that many extra desserts, you're probably okay with 1 a piece. I'd do 10% more maybe, just for the people who want seconds, or in case of accidental floor cupcake.

I recently made cupcakes for a friend's wedding.  I made 200 cupcakes and she also had a bride's cake that fed 150.  She had about 300 wedding guests.  I would guess that only about 75 of the cupcakes were eaten, and not because they weren't good...they were delicious!

It really depends on how heavy of a dinner you are serving and also the other desserts that you are serving (you are serving a lot!)

I would bake 75-100 just to be safe but 100 cupcakes is going to be hard to display attractively.  I would suggest setting about 50 cupcakes to start with.
