Heavy hor dourves

Our wedding is at 6pm and we were thinking of doing heavy hor dourves like little sandwiches, quiche, fruit, veggies but what else should we have that would fill our guests that go along with that same theme of an appitizer type of food. Suggestions?? Thanks!!!

Re: Heavy hor dourves

  • At 6pm, you need to figure on 16 to 20 appetizers that are heavy - think beef, chicken, etc.  Just sandwiches won't work.  If you want that kind of a menu, you will need to move the reception to mid-afternoon.
  • Chicken or beef skewers, stuffed mushrooms, bruschetta, meatballs, mini sliders

  • If your looking to do heavy hors d'oeuvres, think tapas bar. Have a bunch of small pick up items served at each one- you can theme them too! Def make sure you have some carby items in there like sliders, or even mini ramekins of gourmet mac and cheese.
  • Walmart & Sams have a lot of frozen appetizers.. Chicken tenders, pizza bites, they have mini tacos with beef and cheese and they are cheap and good. I have heard of some people doing a soup & salad along with appetizers...just a thought.
