Appetizers and a dessert bar?

We are having a very laid back reception in a family members backyard.. it will be from 7pm until whenever people decide to leave. We were thinking of doing somewhat heavy appetizers and a dessert bar. The dessert bar is pretty much all figured out.. But I kind of have no idea about the appetizers. I was thinking sliders and fries.. or mini tacos and going in a whole other direction. So its kind of a mess lol.. So if anyone has any ideas it would really help :]] oh yea and the drinks are going to be lemonade, tea, beer, and margaritas (how I got the taco idea)
Thanx!

I really like sliders and fries. There are lots of toppings you can use for the sliders. But to be honest tacos are great too. Either idea would be good.  I think I would go with the mini tacos and things along that line. There are so many toppings and things that go along with it.(also nachos, salsa etc)  I also happen to love them all! I don't have any new ideas but I wanted to tell you I think it sounds good. (and vote for the tacos)

EDIT I hadn't thought of the mess. If they are really mini and there are large napkins and/or plates it should still be ok.

Will you have plates, tables, and chairs?  Tacos are pretty messy, so that might make them difficult.  Quesedillas might be a cleaner option.

Sliders sound good too.  I'm sure that both would be a hit with your guests.

Nachos work well! And I have to tell you that I would be in heaven if someone gave me margaritas at a reception, that is an awesome idea. (Oh, you might want to have some water available.)

a taco bar would be awesome and at the taco bar you can have taquitos and Quesedillas with rice and beans for the side that sounds fun and tasty
