Purple Signature cocktails

I saw a forum post awhile back and can't find it again, but you gals all had wonderful suggestions for how to get a nice purple color in a signature cocktail. I need help! Any and all drink recipes and spirit suggestions would be appreciated!

Re: Purple Signature cocktails

  • I can't think of any alcohol or juice besides grape juice that's actually purple.  I'm pretty sure when people have purple drinks, they are adding food color to them.  If I saw a purple drink, there would be no way I'd drink it- it looks fake and sweet.  Do you really want your signature drink to match your color, or do you want something that tastes really good?

I would imagine that Blue Curacao and grenadine would mix together to create a purple color (and would taste perry good together). Chambord could also enhance the color and flavor. Muddled blackberries and blueberries could make an otherwise clear-colored drink look purple. Blackberry mojitos might be a nice choice. Muddled blue/blackberries in champagne with a dash of Chambord might be something to try playing around with.
  • We did a french martini-it's made with Chambord which is purple (more of a plum than royal purple). They were a huge hit! It's pineapple juice, vodka and chambord.

  • Purple Haze - It's a Cosmo made with Blue ciracao instead of triple sec.

    1 1/2 oz vodka
    1 oz blue ciracao
    1/2 oz. lime juice
    Fill with cranberry juice

Can be served on the rocks or straight up in a martini glass.

  • Thanks ladies! Going to have my maids over for a movie night and try out the different combinations to see what we can come up with that looks good and tastes good too!
