Fondant/Marzipan Cake with Bright Colors -- Inspiration?

I know I posted this already, but I've got a new and improved post!

We're having a delicious cappucino cake with marzipan frosting. (Marzipan behaves like fondant for decorating purposes.)

We're having a marine corps wedding with colors red,blue, and gold. We need inspiration for a non-white cake.

I typed 'Marine Corps Themed Cakes' into google and got a lot of neat ideas :-)

I kinda like this as a potential top tier:



Then maybe for the middle and bottom could do a sstars and stripe deal or something. You could really have fun with it, GL!

Keep in mind that if you want a true red, the red food coloring is often VERY bitter tasting.

Maybe go with a goldish color background with red and blue backgrounds.
