Need ideas for our breakfast reception!

We are having a sunrise wedding and breakfast buffet reception and I need ideas on what to serve!

Drinks-- Coffee bar, juices, milks, smoothies?

Food-- Waffle station, cereal bar, and then we wanted like a sweets table so cinimmon rolls and doughnuts? Needing ideas!

 Thanks

  • What about an omelette station?  I'd include some saltier breakfast options as not everyone is into sweet breakfast foods like fruit, syrup, pastries.

  • I'm definitely a savory food person, so I'd want some salt/protein.

    - Sausage and bacon
    - omelettes made to order with choice of cheese (cheddar, swiss, feta), mushrooms, peppers, onions, jalapenos, ham, bacon, chicken, spinach, olives
    - benedicts - possibly a traditional with canadian bacon and a "florentine" with spinach, or maybe a southwest version with chorizo/hot peppers
    - breakfast potatoes
    - corned beef hash
    - crepe station with sweet and savory ingredients

If you want alcohol, you can do mimosas, bellinis and bloody marys, or tequila sunrises.

  • I love cheese blintzes!  They're just fine at room temp, and you can have the sauce on the side for those who don't like it.
  • Oh, also, popovers are really easy to make a lot of at a time - very versatile, too, savory, maybe with spinach, cheese, sausage, or sweet, maybe with an apple filling - or pumpkin!  Good luck!
  • Kiyohi's sounds a lot like what we're having. I think once you find a caterer you like, they should be able to get a feel for what you like and don't like. Just keep in mind the doing an omlet station(if you even want to go that direction) can be very pricey. My question is, if we're having a brunch buffet, do I still need to print up menu cards for each place setting or at all?
  • a fun idea is red velvet waffles
