reception place near Harrisonburg Va

Hey Brides!
I am trying to find a nice place to have my reception next summer, but all I seem to find is hotels. I'd prefer to not have it at a all hotel. I've found some barns, but would like more options. We are having 150-200 guests. Any good ideas?

Have you checked out Hermitage Hill Farm and Stables? it is nearby in New Hope, Virginia about 20 minutes outside of Harrisonburg

It is a beautiful horse farm with a finished reception room and can easily accomodate your party.
They also do a great carrots and cocktails hour with the horses in the stable.

The Arboretum at James Madison University is beautiful.  Have you looked into that yet?

I'm getting married in Harrisonburg next summer in the JMU arboretum (My fiance and I are alumni) and it was very difficult to find reception venues .  JMU has ballrooms and can host a reception there.  They are nice but I worked there when I was in college so it was weird for me to have my reception there.  There is Spotswood Country Club, which I'm going with, but I've also been to a reception at Massanutten Resort's conference center.  It is pretty far up the mountain so the view is beautiful.  Also, there is Cross Keys vineyard, but it's a bit more expensive to rent then the other places.

    Hope this helps a little!
