El Fenix Rooftop Reception

Hi! This is my first time posting and I'm newly engaged looking for ideas....I've seen a couple posts about the El Fenix rooftop idea and wondered what info anyone has on it!? Pricing, pics, what was included, etc....We're planning to wed at our church in Burleson and I know Dallas is a little bit of a drive for a reception but I love the idea and not sure if there's anything that compares closer....any help would be much appreciated!!!

I got married there this past May. Burleson is quite a drive and if possible I would highly urge you reconsider. There is a place in Fort Worth called Los Vaqueros that is similar (but not rooftop). <div>
</div><div>There is no rental fee for the space, you just pay whatever food and alcohol package you want. Food packages start at 11.95/pp buffet for two types enchiladas, rice, beans, chips, salsa and you can add on from there. We did that and a salad and it was PLENTY of food. We also did their alcohol package that was 10.95/pp for 3 hours of unlimited consumption of margaritas, wine, sangria, beer. This includes 3 hoursevent  time (day of prep time included) servers, bartenders, security, plates, silverware, linens, tables, chairs, outdoor lounge furniture, and even a microphone and ipod hookup to their speakers.  The only additional costs are extra hours of event time then add tax and 20% gratuity. </div><div>
</div><div>We looked at a lot of venues and this was way more affordable than anything else we looked at since you only pay for food and alcohol and everything else is included. Quite honestly, the space is so perfect, I could not have imagined a more perfect day. </div><div>

Becuase of the drive from Burleson to Downtown Dallas. That is a very long drive for guests to make for a wedding. It is usually a rule to keep the commute between reception and ceremony to less than 30 minutes. As a guest, I would be a little annoyed with a drive over an hour. <div>The space is great and I have nothing bad to say about El Fenix. </div>

Ditto PP. An hour is a long drive for a guest ... 30 minutes is the recommended max. Of course you can have your reception wherever you want to ... but since you're not absolutely set on that one venue yet, maybe look in FW first. Here are a couple outdoor reception places that come to my mind:

    Los Vaqueros. <a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.losvaqueros.com/catering/index.htm" title="http://www.losvaqueros.com/catering/index.htm">Link to info</a>.

    Joe T Garcia's. <a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.dallasinfocusblog.com/2009/08/12/mandi-jeremy-wedding/" title="http://www.dallasinfocusblog.com/2009/08/12/mandi-jeremy-wedding/">Link to a wedding there</a>.

    Reata restaurant (has a rooftop that's beautiful). <a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.jonathanivyphoto.com/blog/2011/04/22/reata-rooftop-reception-stephanie-jon-harrison/" title="http://www.jonathanivyphoto.com/blog/2011/04/22/reata-rooftop-reception-stephanie-jon-harrison/">Here's info on it in a blog: Link</a>.

Artspace 111 also has a really pretty outdoor area for wedding receptions.

Thank ya'll! I appreciate all the useful info!! I actually really liked the pics of Joe T Garcias...we're still very early in the planning stages I think....I'm kinda clueless!! haha So I'm open to any ideas and not set on anything just yet except where the ceremony will take place at our church in Burleson. I think I may check out Joe T Garcias....I'm excited about getting lots of tips and info from all you guys! :)

Just FYI- I think Joe T Garcia's requires a 5000 fb minimum depending on the event space you choose. Also, not all of their event spaces allow you to have DJs and loud music. They do offer this really adorable chapel building though and their margaritas are to die for. Last I checked, they do not offer consumption packages and you have to pay by the pitcher for margaritas.
