We are now starting our search for invitations! Soooo, I was wondering where y'all got your invitations, if you were happy with them, places you know of, etc.?
I have been looking online and they seem to be a lot cheaper than print shops or stationary places but I'm kind of nervous about ordering invites online. I know on a lot of them you can order samples and we have gotten 2 samples and they were both very cheaply and poorly made.
Our budget for invitations is about $500.00 and we need about 225 invites if that helps any. So, if you have any suggestions, let me know! Thanks!

We just bought our invites at hobby lobby, and my mom did all the printing herself at home with their fancy printer or whatever they have. I don't know, she just got it recently.
The invitations came out really cute, and we got a lot of compliments on them. Everyone was astonished when they asked where I got them done, and I said "My mom did them at home!"
Invites don't have to be uber expensive unless you make them that way!
[QUOTE]I'm actually considering ordering ours through David's Bridal's Invitations... sounds odd, but we got some samples in last week, and I really like to quality. We are ordering 100 for $60 (without the RSVP card... buying those on top of the price). All in all, the price will be right at $120 for 100 invites, envelopes and RSVP cards!

[QUOTE]Natalie: We have looked at Michaels and Hobby Lobby I just don't know if we have the supplies to pull it off. I am just not very DIY-ish. I am really obsessed with invites with a ribbon on them and layers so both of those things make them a little pricier!

I had my mom add a ribbon on the inside :)
I can see if I can get a picture of our invites. I don't know what you mean by "layers"...but I'm sure it's do-able. But you're right, if you're not a DIY-er, then you'll have to go the more expensive route. I'm not a DIY-er either. AT ALL. Luckily, my mom is!

The ones that we're considering from DB have ribbon on them :)

Oh and don't even get me started on samples. I couldn't believe the cheap crap I was getting that they wanted $600 for.

I had just gotten a new printer and I'm good with Microsoft Word so I was easily able to spruce up the "decorations" on the printing and it didn't take them very long to put them all together. I also DIY'ed the map picture.
Since the "envelope" was black, they came with white labels to print the addresses on. My FMIL is very "proper" so I cleared it with her that it was ok to print labels for the invites. I used a pretty font and then decorated the corners of the labels with a stamp and bronze ink that I purchased from Joann's.
I'll have to post my pics sometime for y'all to critique.
ETA: I got two kits of 50 invites each for about $50 - making it $.50 per invitiation. I purchased them when they were having a bridal half-off sale. The stamp was about $3 and the ink pad for the stamp was $9 I think. Super cheap and I got a ton of compliments.
Brianna - I ordered samples from David's Bridal too and I thought they were very nice. In hindsight, I'd probably go that route.

[QUOTE]I used TheAmericanWedding.com, and they were great. I even called them and made changes that the web order could not accomodate, and they came out perfect. For just invites and envelopes, they were about $1.20 each.

</div><div>I was actually looking on there and saw a lot of stuff that I liked, I just wasn't sure about the quality. I am glad you were happy with them, I will request some samples. They seem to be nicer quality than a lot of the other online sources.

I had her create the invitation and response card and I created a "informational card" and a belly band to go around it all.

They are a company I found when I still lived in Omaha since thats where they are based but they do ALOT of out of state orders and have great weddingwire reviews. They have a lot of different styles and you can get just the invites or you can get whole collections with thank you notes and envelopes. Everything is completely customized to what you want and I got a few samples a couple weeks ago and they were great.
