i have a question for the experienced brides out there! is there anything you wish you had asked your vendors? i know the standard questions, but sometimes you just don't know to ask until you've been there. i'm about to sign with my reception site and i'm interviewing DJs and cake places... i'm so worried that i'm going to leave something important out!

I really tried to do thorough research beforehand.  I went in prepared to every meeting with my questions written down.  I had several vendors tell me they had never seen someone so organized!  But that is part of my job so I'm good at it.

The one thing I will say is you can't OVER ask--by that I mean, be perfectly clear that there are NO other hidden or undisclosed charges.  Some places will charge you to put out water and tea on the tables, something I would have never thought to ask!  You don't want any surprises down the line.

I wish I would have asked the DJ more questions.

I wish the DJ would have had someone else's contact number besides DH's and mine. He got lost getting to the venue, and didn't call anyone besides the two of us, which obviously we didn't have our phones on us.

Other than that, I pretty much asked every question known to man to every vendor in advance! hahaha.

Stephie is right, you can never ask TOO many questions!

For photographers, I wish I would have asked to see a few full weddings.

For the DJ I wish I would have had our DJ explain our theme to us to see that she got it.

Good thinking NMac... I'm supposed to have a "walk through" with all my vendors at the venue in a few months, which is really cool, so they can find and see the space. But just in case, it's good to have a back up contact for the day of.
