3 Weeks to go...what should I be doing??

Less than 3 weeks until the wedding...eek! To the married ladies, do you remember what you were doing in the last few days?? We got ahold of the last RSVP stragglers, and I made our seating chart, but I had a few people RSVP "yes" and then change their mind and say they aren't coming.  I need to tweak that, and then final payment is due to the hall on July 1.

Also, how many "no shows" did you have at your wedding? At FI's cousin graduation party yesterday, one of his relatives casually mentioned that they were indeed coming to the wedding, but would be coming after dinner and just stopping by for a bit. Should I still pay for their plate in case they get there early? I know I should, but I am trying to save myself $200. Ugh.

Ok, this is rambly, sorry.

Yaaaaaay three weeks to go!  I had a handful of no-shows (5-6, maybe?).  I'd just go ahead and pay for those cousins.  It sucks, but if they show up earlier and don't have a chair that's kind of awkward.

At this point, I'd start making lists, and lists, and lists!  Make a list of things that need to go to the ceremony site and what goes to the reception site and start getting those things together if you have the space.  List what you need to take to the RD.  List what things you need with you while getting ready, etc, ect.  I know I felt like I lost my short-term memory in the weeks leading up to the wedding, lol.

If you have any DIY projects or loose ends, get them finished up.

And, go on a date with your almost DH!  The last couple weeks can get crazy, so spend some quality time togheter.

We actually had a fair number of people RSVP yes and then not come.  We either had 6 or 7 which I think is a lot out of the 85ish that we planned for at the reception.

Is your dinner actually a plated meal or a buffet?  If it's a buffet, you can probably get away without paying for a meal for the couple that said they'll be late and still have plenty of food for them.  If it's a plated meal, I'd probably suck it up and just pay for it.  You'll have to pay the bar charge for these people regardless.

I second the idea of making lists!

Have you had a final fitting of your dress recently?  If not, I would make sure everything is still perfect in the fit department and then have it steamed a couple days before if it needs it.  You may need to have your veil steamed also.

Do your DIY projects in order of how important they are to you.  We had a couple of things that simply did not get done because we ran out of time.  BIL and DH were folding programs the morning of our wedding even!

Try to get plenty of sleep and eat healthy.  Keep your stress level as low as possible.  Don't worry about the things that are out of your control (other people, weather, etc.).    Your wedding likely will NOT be perfect.  Everyone has some minor things that go wrong.  Embrace them!  DH and I still laugh about some of the silly things that happened on our wedding day. Our favorite is about the cop that threatened to arrest our entire wedding party and our photographers. We were taking photos near some train tracks downtown and I guess we were trespassing on private property.  The cop acted like we were a bunch of thugs with guns and knives.

Remember to just have FUN the next couple of weeks and especially on your wedding day!!

Ditto the lists. In the last few weeks, I was wrapping up a lot of DIY projects, like bubbles, sparklers, programs, escort cards, etc. Also, start really trying to take care of yourself. One of the things that drove me CRAZY is that my nails looked awful, despite my efforts to take care of them. Make sure you're drinking lots of water (which can be hard to remember), getting sleep (also difficult), and practicing good hygiene (wash your face morning and night!).

You may want to confirm with your caterer, baker, florist, etc. Make sure everyone knows when and where to be. Figure out how much you still owe everyone. Those are good things to be doing.

I'm so excited that your big day is coming so soon!!
