Alterations! No one wants my business!

I have so many clothes that are in need of mending or alterations.  Two huge bags full!  I've ran into nothing but problems in trying to find a place to do it.  I made an appointment with a place on Sylvania Ave, when I got there for my appointment they had closed early! (And had no parking, but that's a whole other issue)  I went to the second place today and the women rolled her eyes when I walked in the door, while looking at one of my two bags of clothes.  She then was very rude and finally just ended up telling me that she didn't have time to do them.  Seriously, people could make a killing of me!  I needed one of my dress' hemmed for my E Pics next week and it's just not looking good.   So.....Who do you use for everyday clothing alterations?

I went to Elegant Alterations in Holland (intersection of airport hwy and holloway) for my bridal alterations.  While I was in there, she had multiple other customers bringing in and dropping off things to be hemmed, taken in, etc.  She was good about asking people when they needed things by and getting things back to people in just a couple of days when they needed it.

I haven't taken anything else there, but I was very happy with my dress.  She's the owner and does everything herself.

I would start with just a couple of pieces anywhere you go and make sure that you like the work they do.  Then maybe the second time you can overwhelm someone with bags of clothes!

My go-to place is Fashion Tailor on Glanzman Rd. in South Toledo.  She does really good work, she's very sweet and her prices are good.

I'd also recommend Sarah's Stitchery on Glendale/Reynolds.  She's a bit scatterbrained, but good at what she does.

And I agree with PP.  Try taking in just one or two items at first, and go from there.

    Good luck! :)
