Tell us about your cake.

A lot of people were surprised by the old school fountain, but we really liked it!   Our cake had buttercream frosting.  We had a layer of chocolate, white, and spice cake.  Our top layer is chocolate and in my MIL's freezer waiting for us... I'm skeptical about it, but I will at least try it!

We ordered ours from Thrush's.  We absolutely lvoed their torte cakes!  But since our wedding is an outdoor venue, they couldnt' guarantee the cream layers.  So we went with their Chocolate-Peanut Butter cake.  Seriously tastes like a Reeses!

It'll just be a 2-tiered cake with dark chocolate frosting and chocolate shavings all over it! Yum!

I'm meeting with Cake arts Supply about doing my groom's cake for me.

Ours was 4 tiers, alternating white and chocolate cake, with white buttercream frosting (Yes, she got buttercream that smooth!!!)  The circle design mimicked our invitations, and then we had black ribbon around each layer.  I absolutely LOVED our cake - both the look and the taste!!!



Oh, and cschuma, we had our top tier on our first anniversary and it was just as delicious as on our wedding day!!  As long as it was frozen properly, you should be pleasantly surprised!

The cake is one thing I really don't care too much about.  I am not a huge cake person at all.  I told my FI he could pick out the cake, and I think we are going with cheesecakes.  I used to live in New York City, and he and I used to always go to a restaurant there that had awesome cheesecakes.  So, we may order a bunch of those and have them instead of a traditional cake.  FI also mentioned doing cupcakes so maybe we will have both??  Who knows.  It's up to him! haha. 

Ok, I need help.  Every time I click "write a new post" NOTHING happens.  I have my date and venue set and I wanted to share with everyone and I can't.   

But, we have our wedding set for July 16, 2011 at Nazareth Hall for both the ceremony and reception.  So excited

 We will have fall leaves wraping down the cake instead of flowers and our topper is a pair of rubber ducks!

We are going to be getting our cake at Creative Confections. It is a home based business in BG, her name is Chrissy. Not sure on which one, but we have some time!! I am leaning more towards the bottom one.
