QOTD 6/14

What are your seating arrangements for the bridal party at the reception?  Traditional head table?  Sweetheart table?  Other?

Many times I think traditional head tables get thumbs down from people, but it worked out well for us.  The GM were my husbands brothers, 2 of which were young and not in a serious relationship.  His oldest little brother is in a serious relationship with one of my BM.  My other 2 BM are my sisters and also young and not in a relationship.  We sat with our siblings and my best friend without excluding any significant others.

We are doing either a sweetheart table, or a table with us and our parents.

I have been in 6 weddings, all with head tables, and I hated them because I couldnt sit with my date, and he had to sit with people he didn't know.  I also hated feeling like I was on display while eating.  Plus, our bridal party is pretty large, so it would just look silly.  I just don't see the benefits of head tables, honestly.

We're doing a sweetheart table.  We have no problems with a head table, I've never actually been to a wedding where they didn't have a head table!  We only heard about sweetheart tables when we first started planning our wedding last spring.

It just seemed to offer a little bit of intimacy for us at least for dinner, and it appealed to us both.

If we had done a head table, we absolutely would have allowed SO of those in the wedding party to be seated with us too!

We did a traditional head table and it worked out just fine for us. :)
