Re: FFF

  • Kathleen, are you going to share what happened at your wedding or with the vendor?  Also, what is it with most of us having issues with out florists :(.

I flame people who feel entitled to things that they should not.  After the hail storm totaled most of the cars at my work, the company agreed to help out with deductibles for all qualified teammates.  There were about 100 people who didnt qualify, so we formed a committee to raise money for those individuals.  We have almost $7,000 and we arent done yet.  It has been A LOT of hard work, but yet people are complaining because we are only fixing windshields and not body damage.  It just makes me sad that people take things for granted.  Sorry I will end my rant now, I just had to get that off my chest.
  • Ditto wanting to know what happened with your florist, Kathleen!

I had a great experience with my florist, but I was her last wedding before she quit the biz for a while to spend more time with her young kids!

Bobbileigh -- it's great that your company is so involved in helping people out! What made someone 'qualified' or not, if you don't mind sharing? That would color my opinion even more -- I know at my company everything is based on whether you've been with the company a year or not. If it's people brand-new to the company complaining about 'only' getting windshield help, yeah, that's annoying!

Yea. I was waiting for her to email me back which she just did at 1:45 this AM....after I called and left a voicemail with her assistant.

Also, How ungrateful of those people!
I will never understand people like that

  • Kathleen - I wanted your florist, but she was booked up for my date. Now I'm VERRRRY curious.

I guess I flame one of FI's groomsmen and his wife (my frenemy) for being so arrogant last night. They live off Knox Henderson and think they are so hipster and talk about going north of Mockingbird makes them itch.
Um, you grew up in Branson, MO and work for Clear Channel. You could not be more white yuppie.
I honestly feel like they try to impress FI since he lived in LA for a few years but FI doesn't even really care for LA and he really never talks about it
  • Carrie, that is hilarious.

Bobbileigh -- that's so great of y'all to try to help out your coworkers!  I'll never understand why people can't just be thankful for what they get.

I guess I flame the lady who lives in the apartments across the street from mine, who always lets her dog just walk around outside without watching him, and who apparently just got a new dog who just ran up and tried to bite both my dogs.  And then came running out screaming and didn't even try to apologize, just looked terrified that my dog was going to eat hers.  No, lady, MY dog is the sweetest thing on the planet.  I certainly hope every time your stupid chihuahua gets bigger than his breeches he's encountering a dog as sweet as mine.

  • I flame myself for tearing up when I said goodbye to my coworker yesterday. Also I flame that I can't find my key to the front door, so I have to wait for someone to get here and let me in... on my last day! Finally, I flame my dad for being the absolute worst person to try to communicate with. I'm having to move out because of him, he's been giving me the silent treatment all week, and last night my mom tells me he's upset because I'm leaving on such bad terms... you created these terms, I'm just dealing with them! Ugh.

I'm going to flame entitlement in general.

On E yesterday, there was a girl who posted that she has been invited to the wedding and that she and her husband were told by the bride that they were on clean up crew.  Seriously?

Also, I flame the lady who worked for the Catholic school in IN who got fired for not upholding her contract.  It sucks, but being stupid doesn't mean you can't read a contract.

    Kristan,
I'm sorry your dad sucks, but you're exactly right--he did this and now he has to live with it.
  • Bobbileigh- Those people should be thankful they are even getting help.

Amanda- My dog thinks she's to big for her breeches too, that's why I always have her on leash.

Kathleen- very curious also about the florist. I guess I'll check your florist off my list of possible vendors.

kristan- That stinks your Dad is giving you the silent treatment. Like you said it was his terms.

My only flame is I didn't sleep well last night.

  • Bobbileighthat's awesome that your company offered to help some of y'all out! I'm a claim adjuster and I know that my company wouldn't have done anything for us if our cars for damaged.

  • Julie, link?

And semi-related, did you hear about the teacher at the Christian school (I think she was in North Texas) who was laid off because she got pregnant out of wedlock?  Regardless of what side one takes on THAT issue, apparently she later came out and said, "But it's DIFFERENT!  I'm not just some unwed mother who slept around a lot!  I'm ENGAGED.  This is different!" and then a lot of people turned on her for acting like she was better than any other single mom.

  • I flame the fact I already have plans on Saturday night, but am trying to see what I can do to possibly talk H into a boys night with his son!! And I can't tell you how glad i am it's FRIDAY! Oh, and I have a little bit of a day late AW...I think we're turning a major corner with Remington and his house-breaking/potty-training! For two days now, he's actually gone to the door and told us he needs to go out. Granted, not every time, but hey, I'll take anything right now! His first vet appt was Wednesday and they were amazed at how big he I's, and kept saying, he's gonna be a big one! Oye!
  • I flame people who are freaking out about that couple not giving their foul ball to the kid at the Rangers game the other day.  From the video, it looks like any other time a ball goes into the stands -- a bunch of people went for it, and one guy got it.  He's allowed to be excited.  I find it a little crazy that he and his girlfriend seemed completely oblivious to the screaming child next to them, but seriously people.  My Little posted a link on her wall about how "absolutely disgusted" she was with people these days.  Come.  On.  Even the kid's parents said it wasn't as bad as everyone is making it.

  • Oh goodness, Amanda. I absolutely hate this! My younger dog (the lab) has issues with being on a leash in confined spaces. When I lived in uptown, I would always get the b!tches who would let their little chew toy run loose everywhere (pool, halls, etc.). Then when my dog would bark at theirs, they look at me like I am the monster. Uh, no, I do my job by keeping my dog on a leash, why can't you do yours?

I hope you get better luck Bobbileigh. I couldn't imagine how people could be so ungrateful, but you guys rock for helping them out!

Kathleen, definitely waiting to hear the story. I LOVE the rest of your pics- so sweet!

I, too, flame people who can only think of themselves. My father threw a fit last night when he called and asked if he could get tickets to the rangers game for FI, himself, and I for the day after the wedding. I told him months ago we would be taking a "mini-moon" since we weren't leaving for a month for our real honeymoon. He called me selfish, ungrateful, and snobby. ::headdesk::This is going to be a long month.
  • Ugh, Amanda, at my old apartment, there was a girl who would walk her boxer and chihuahua without leashes.  Apparently the boxer was aggressive, because any time we would come upon her, she would freak out and go, "Oh, hang on!  I have two!!!" and then rush to leash him.  Um, if your dog is aggressive, keep him on a freaking leash.  I can't stand bad dog-owners.

  • Julie, I agree wholeheartedly re: the lady and the Catholic  school. I had read about that a while back, and then saw her on the Today Show yesterday. Yeah, lady it sucks that they don't agree with what you are doing, but you knew what you were getting into when you signed that contract. Get over it and move on. IDGET.

Kathleen, I am so excited about storytime! Did your voicemail include "I know where you'll be Saturday, so answer me or else"?

  • Marie, what made someone qualify is if they are a permanent teammate or not (after 90 days you convert).  Even though those that dont qualify are here for less than 90 days we still consider them to be a part of our family, so that is why we are trying to do something for them.
