QOTD 6/29

Are there any songs that are definite no-no's at your reception?

We said no to all rap music, the chicken dance, and the hokey pokey.  Everything else was fair game I guess.

We said no to the chicken dance and hokey pokey at ours too.  They always annoy me.  Our band had already put in their contract that they wouldn't do it either though!  We are OK with anything else though.

Same as you guys, we told the DJ no chicken dance, hokey pokey, or YMCA.

Then we also said, no Justin Beiber or Taylor Swift...and I thought my 13 year old daughter was going to cry!!!  lol!!!!

We asked him to basically keep it clean...I trust him to do a good job.  I'll let you all know how it turns out!

My only specific song was "Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy."  I got overruled at the reception by my dad and bridal party, so it was played.  It was late and most of the old people were gone by then, so I really didn't care.

We aren't that far in the planning process yet, but there will be no country music played.  Everything else is ok.

We had quite a few on our "do not play" list.
They included...  chicken dance, hokey pokey, cha cha slide, UM fight song, any country and anything by Celine Dion.

    lol :)

I was really against all group dance songs all the ones mentioned, that's when we decided to have a big band play at our reception.  So all of our songs will be jazz, swing and motown standards!

This and the electric slide are pretty much the only songs I will dance too!  I'm a self-conscious dancer for sure and these are the 2 you can't mess up!  Haha!  They were on our "must play list"! <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-embarassed.gif" border="0" alt="Embarassed" title="Embarassed" />

we ruled out the hokey pokey, chicken dance, macarana, ymca (and everything else by the village people) and absolutely no rap.

most of our music was disco, 80s, and country.
