OOT/Welcome bags

We have many guests coming down to Toledo for our wedding, and I really want to surprise them with a nice welcome bag when they get to their hotel room.

Here is what I have so far:
Directions from the Hotel to the hall
Schedule of events
Candy buckeyes
Toledo Mudhen pen
Swan creek candle company candle
Personalized water bottle
Sample packet of Tylenol
Something from Tony Packos (not sure what yet)
Something from Libbey Glass (not sure what yet)
Door hanger that says WELCOME on one side and DO NOT DISTURB WE ARE RECOVERING FROM RAK AND FI's WEDDING on the other

This is going to be their first impression of the wedding (well, second after the invitations) so I want it to be a good one!

What do you think??

I know a lot of people have talked about Tony Packos sauce. When I considered doing OOT bags, I was going to use that. I would just get something really little and inexpensive from Libbey. I know they have things like shot glasses and little bowls or whatever that are really cheap.

I would include some sort of welcome note/letter. Maybe it can be stapled on top with the directions and schedule of events.  It also might be nice to have a non-candy snack if you're really looking for something else to include.  Perhaps those peanut butter crackers or a couple granola bars?

Other than that, it sounds pretty thorough and good!

Good ideas! Can you buy Packos in bulk and get a discount? Anybody know?

That sounds awesome.  I love the libbey and swan creen items.  We are trying to do all locally made stuff, how did I not think of them?!!?

    We are tenatively doing:

    Garlic Expressions Dressing
    Marsha's Buckeyes
Tony Packo's pickles and/or Hot Dog Sauce
    Almondina
    Gum
    Comfort Crunch
    Mud hens key chain
    Tylenol
    Water
    Tums
    Free Press
    City Paper
    Welcome Note with Schedule

My wedding planner did bring up a good point about people who will be flying back and it being risky, of the glass breaking.  We only have one flying and we are going to offer to ship his.

My wedding planner also wrote a blog about it, if anyone is interested....

We only have a few people driving in for the wedding.  The rest are just driving in from wherever.  I went to Libbey Glass today and they have the cutest glasses...the say "Toledo Rocks" on them, and the botom makes it so it doesn't lay flat and kinda rocks back and forth.

    What is Comfort Crunch?

Oh wow, that link from your planner is awesome.  Mine are going to look terrible next to yours, lol.

Let me know where you get your Packos stuff from.  I am going to check out Wal Mart to see how cheap the stuff is there.

It's a snack mix that is made here in Toledo.  A portion of the proceeds go to cancer research!

I'm sure your bags will be awesome!!!  I'm going to steal your Toledo Rocks Libbey item, if you don't mind.

If anybody is willing to share - what are some of the prices/amounts you're spending on your OOT bags? We could end up with over 50 rooms blocked for our OOT guests (50 is actually a low number.. ahh!!), so we're trying to decide if doing OOT bags are a wise money choice...
There are so many great ideas in here but it sounds like things could add up very quickly even if we do just 1 bag per room...

Regardless we will do something even if its just a letter and list of things to do but I'd love to include a few things with that as an extra Thank You for coming.

AllysOop, you should try going to a local farmers market, like the one in Perrysburg that they do every Thursday.  Not only can you get great local ideas, but the people who are there usually either run the companies or can put you in touch with the owner so you might be able to work out discounts.  Also, keep in mind you don't have to go overboard.  Just some aspirin, water and maybe a snack is really all you need to have a great gift bag.
