Getting in Shape

6 and a half months away

So it is really time for me to start cracking down .
I have about 10 pounds to lose . I would like to lose it by may/ June in time for my fittings and beach weather and then keep it off tone fort September 1 wedding !
This is my issue ... Stress eating. I workout a Ton! I do Brazilian jujitsu kickboxing boxing running and circuit training .. It's my food that is the problem .
I also have an under active thyroid and am in the process of adjusting my meds .
I know all about healthy eating but I make these terrible choices more out of stress and habit now . I sick of this cycle of "cleansing" and then gaining the weight back ,
I just want to keep a healthy lifestyle and keep te weight off!!
I do track on livestrong . It's not being unaware but more of a psychological/ stress issue .
I had an eating disorder for 11 years and while I have been in recovery for over 6 years I still have the emotional eating stuff.
Any ideas ? I know what to do but I'm so afraid of failing again and falling off the wagon .

  • You sound very self aware and are doing so many things right - might I suggest checking in on our daily accountability threads here (like Liatris suggested)?

It's helped a lot of us knowing that we're going to be checking in with others as to our progress with fitness and nutrition.

  • I agree. You're doing it all right.

My only other suggestion to you re. emotional eating: have you tried journalling? I mean writing in a daily journal, not tracking calories (although that's also a good thing, I do that too! :-D). When my life was a mess (first marriage ended, I wound up in an abusive relationship, got back on track and went back to school etc), writing in a journal gave me an outlet for my feelings.

I was thinking about it yesterday actually; I never write in it much when things are going well, but when times are tough, it's my go to resource. I always feel better, and I can go back through them and see how far I've come.

    Good luck.

Here, go to jlafowler.vemma.com, under products click Bod-e. Sign up for it. It is seriously the easiest way to lose weight when food is the problem. It tells you exactly what to eat and when to eat. It works, they even offer a money back guarentee.
