B&M Monday

OF COURSE two days after I pay a huge "stop payment" fee, the missing check in question shows up in my mailbox.  I am so frustrated with the Dallas Co. Tax Office.  All those times they gave me the run-around, ANYONE could have easily noted if they'd mailed me a form telling me they couldn't process my request.  Instead, they all acted like they had no idea what they were doing and my check was hopelessly lost.  What a bunch of idiots.

Grrrrrr.

Re: B&M Monday

  • My B&M is that I'm not as glamorous as Kylie. Your pics look GREAT!!!!
  • Thanks Carrie!!! Those were so much fun! My B&M, not getting a good nights sleep. I think I was up every two hours. Will be a fun day of work!
  • I had an interview almost 2 weeks ago for a great new job, and they keep telling me I'm one of their highest candidates and are still going through the referal checking process. GAH. I really really want this job.

Oh and one of my BM's is in freak out mode. Her BF is from Tokyo and was here for a month and left a few days ago. She hasn't stopped crying once, and it was only made worse when he broke up with her yesterday. She went into this crazy fit of hysterics, but she did lie to him a few times that he caught her in. So I'm taking her out for girl time today...wish me luck.

  • 1) The weekend is over :(
    2) I'm having to re-wire all my brooches because I figured out yesterday that the wire I used the first time just isn't going to work... here's to another week of spending every spare minute wiring pieces... ick.
    3) Still haven't heard anything about any of the dozen jobs I've applied for over the last 6 weeks. Seriously, at least send me an email and tell me you hired someone else. But I'm still holding out hope for the job in WF... that would make things about a billion times easier!

  • The photographer I really wanted canceled 3 times, then shows up LATE, in sweat pants, no make-up. She had a contract WRITTEN out on a piece of paper, she had changed the package we had agreed upon AND she didn't bring any examples of previous weddings she had shot. Here's to starting back at square 1 with the photographer search!!

SN: I am in East Texas so this wasn't a Dallas/Ft. Worth photog.

Kylie, your pictures were GORGEOUS! I hope mine turn out that great one day! :)

<div>That is terrible! I spent all weekend working with wedding photographers and let me tell you some are much more professional than others...you'd think you get what you pay for, but sometimes people bump up pricing even if they aren't great. </div>

  • I need help ladies.
I got a ridiculous sunburn being outside for like 2 hours yesterday wearing a boatneck shaped dress.
How do I make this go away in 3 months?
For a little background information... I'm as white as the day is long.
  • I got to work an hour early to finish some stuff before an 8 oclock meeting.

It's now 9. No meeting yet. I have an 11 am appt in Mesquite. I'm starting to get pissed for real.

<div>I pinned this a few weeks back, knowing I will likely need it before our wedding- I'm as pale as you are. Just read through it, and it seems pretty successful from the comments. It's worth a try :)</div><div>

  • Kristan THANK YOU. It doesn't look bad enough to scab over or peel. The problem with sunburns with me is they tend to 'stain' my skin for months. When I was young this was a great way to strategically get a tan for the entire summer. It is not so great when you are wearing a very open dress. Here's a pic (I have no shame).

  • Carrie,
If you find that you're getting close and you still have a line, you could always try spray tanning or airbrush tanning.  I know that some girls here have done both so maybe they'll chime in later.

<div>Yikes! Well let me know if it works- I'm planning on going tubing for my bachelorette party the month before, so I might need it. Although I didn't get burned at ALL on our cruise because I spent 30 minutes every morning religiously applying sunscreen. </div>

  • Honestly I'm not TOO worried... I have just under 4 months, and I was planning on probably getting an airbrush tan anyways. It also isn't that painful, which is weird. It's stil going to cause a bit of panic anyways.
Especially when FI can't stop laughing at it. In retaliation I said it was a good thing that I picked out a turtleneck wedding dress (he's always telling me I dress too conservative), and his face turned sheet white. Retaliation.
  • Carrie, I have major farmer's tan, so I just did a spray tan a few days before my wedding and it was great.  I am very, very, very fair, so I did the lightest setting.

New B&M: Threw up at work, so they sent me home.  =(  What a crummy day.

Also: Kylie, I am jumping on the love train.  Those pics are great!

  • Kylie, I love love love those pics. You look gorgeous :)

H asked me this weekend how I felt about him going back overseas as a civilian contractor for 6 months at a time. I don't know if it's B&M worthy cause it's a a $#!tton of money that he'd make for us, and I could work on going independent in that time he's away.

<div>I have actually done this before...I did it a few different ways. I soaked in a bath with about 7 tea bags instead and then for other times you can get large tea bags, put them in warm water for about a minute and then put the bag directly on the burn. I too am very pale and this was one of the few things that has worked for me. Oh and aveno oatmeal bath packets...those are awesome too. </div>

6 months is a long time...but for the money, maybe its worth it. It would depend on how well you deal with being apart that long.

And then there's me with my BM of 41 days remaining until FI comes home...

    You can do it!

I told him I wasn't worried about me since we already went a whole year doing it when he was deployed. I told him I was worried about him cause he had a hard time understanding my girls trips I took a lot during deployment to keep my mind off things.

<div>H and I were actually talking about something similar.  I guess one of his best options (money-wise and as far as what they have him doing right now) is off-shore rigs.  And I just hate that idea.  He said he doesn't know if he could stand being away for six months when seeing each other every other weekend is hard enough.  I know we'd make a ton of money if he did it, but oh man do I not want that.</div>

Yay! Are the McGowans doing them?
  • I missed a lot today...darn meetings. Thanks for the love ladies, I cant't wait to really look at them tonight! CARRIE! Ouch! We live on the water during the summer, so all last summer, I spent completely covered in sun tan lotion and in the ugliest bathing suit top that was straight across so I didn't get lines. Excited that this year I don't have to! Amanda, hope you feel better. God bless you gals making some big decisions regarding husbands jobs...DH changed jobs right after the wedding for similar reasons, but the travel he had to take on isn't even close to what you guys are looking at. I mean, come on, KS? I can deal!
