Super sore calves and quads

I went away for the holiday and didn't really work out aside from a 39 min walk one day. I did a somewhat intense workout yesterday and today my calves are on fire. My quads are sore, too. I wanted to still go to the gym tomorrow for a light workout. Is the stationary bike good for sore legs? I foam rolled as best as I could.


Also, any good stretches besides the ones everyone already knows? I wanted tomorrow to be a big stretching day after doing the bike.

Thoughts?

  • I've found that the best way to get rid of the soreness is to just work through it. If you're that sore though, I would actually stretch before AND after.

  • Don't stretch before.  Stretching cold muscles is never a good idea.  If you DO want to stretch before, do a warm up first.
