Workout Accountability: Wednesday

Well last night was big failure. I didn't do anything. I had a stressful day and all the packing/moving things got in the way and I just didn't run.

I'm pretty frustrated with myself. These last few weeks I've just been maintaining my weight instead of losing. And I know it's all down to what I've been eating.

Tonight I'm going to the gym (straight from work, so no excuses this time) and doing my upper body lift and the elliptical.  I might do some extra cardio if I have time.

Re: Workout Accountability: Wednesday

  • Well, maintaining is still better than gaining, Jude! (I know that probably doesn't help much, but it's something!)

The scale is up on me right now because of my eating, and there seems to be no time to workout in the next few days.  I'm going to really try to watch the calories, especially when we head for vacation on Friday, and am hoping to squeeze in some yoga and a long walk with the dog later tonight.

  • Ugh, I hear you girls.  I am skipping my work Biggest Loser weigh-in this week.  I don't even want to see the number on the scale right now.  My workouts are good, but my diet has been awful.  I just went to the grocery store last night to try to get back on track.  So far so good this morning, but it is only 9:00!

This morning we lifted legs, and did 30 minutes of intervals on the treadmill.  Our intent was to up our cardio to 45 minutes today, but we spent too much time socializing & gabbing with other people in the gym, so before we knew it we were running late.  Tomorrow we'll make sure we build in chatting time so we get there early enough to get 45 minutes in.

Here's to getting back on track!
  • Did 60 minutes of light cardio on my bike last night and went on a walk earlier in the day yesterday with co-workers. I was at over 12,000 steps for the day so I was feeling pretty good.

Tonight is a gym night, hoping to actually drag FI along this time (he hasn't been to the gym with me in like 2 weeks - I know men lose weight easier than women usuallly and it's frustrating because while I've lost close to 25 lbs he hasn't lost any weight because he's not trying)

I got to the gym myself last night and got some cardio and abs in. Friday is my normal weigh in day but since I will be on vacation i'll just do it tomorrow am before I leave. I have been ok with eating this week but it could be better. Hoping I at least stayed the same or moved down just a little bit. I keep telling myself baby steps.
  • Last night I did core, full upper body weights and cardio.

Tonight I have an hour with the trainer... it sucks I am dead after 30 minutes so we will see how an hour goes. So plan for tonight is cardio, core and legs.

As of last week I was down 17 lbs. I ate poorly this weekend though so I am trying to keep on the healthy eating train. Next weigh in is June 8th

  • Hey All! Happy Hump Day! This morning I had a great 40 minute workout on the elliptical, going from level 10 resistance for 30 min, then sprint intervals on level 9 for another 10 minutes. Then I came home and did some Jillian Michaels Ab work. Better yet, when I put on my black pencil skirt that always showed off my "assests" (haha) it was a little more lose today in the hip area!! Wooot wooot! I have a softball game tonight, so I have some added cardio. Have a good one!

  • Hi everyone.  I did well yesterday....stayed under my calories and did a pilates and bootcamp class at the gym.

Today I'm hoping to get in a good walk at lunch, (as long as I get out of a meeting on time, argh), and then I'm going to a "body works" class at the gym tonight....it's mostly weights with a little bit of light cardio.   Have a great day, all!
  • We lost our softball game last night but at least I got some exercise! Unfortunately, I have a disgusting habit of eating a spoonful of peanut butter whenever I see the jar so I think anything I burned at softball was undone by my PB binge.

This morning I did the elliptical for 30 min. but I was really slogging through and my speed wasn't what I would have liked. If it's nice tonight I'd like to take the dog for a walk.

    Have a great Wednesday!

  • Hi Ladies!

Sounds like  you guys are on the right track! Congrats!!

My weigh in day is June 1. I wanted to give myself a month in hopes of seeing some improvement.. I kept losing a lb and then gaining it back when I was weighing myself every week.  I'm hoping to see a difference next week.  I think it's just my eating habits that are a problem (which I guess counts more than working out?). I'm on week 4 of the bridaliscious boot camp, and am training for a 5k...so hoping to see a difference soon.

Anyone have any food tips? Or can reccomend a website for recipes?

  • I am SO excited to post on this board again. We got back from Nuevo Vallarta last night (after a 4.5 hour flight that turned into 7) and were dead beat tired, but sleeping in my bed felt oh-so-right.

Today I am just about jumping for joy - I got to eat my normal breakfast - and the rest of the day I am not going to be filling with cheesy greasy foods. All-inclusive is great, but you're kind of stuck with their food choices... while they were delicious, they were ALL bad for you.

While I was gone, there was damage to the scale done, gained 1.4 pounds back, but that is a far improvement from the 4 pounds I gained last time. I feel like it'll come off quickly after I resume my regular healthy eating.

I may exercise today, but I also may not. Depends on if the rain clears up (it is super cold here and I just can't imagine going outside as of right now... going from 37 celsius to 8 celsius is a BIT of a drop). For today I will focus on eating like a normal human and drinking water.

<div>Hi Danielle! You're right about eating habits: weight loss is about 80% healthy eating and 20% exercise.  A great way to see how to clean up your diet is to track your calories.  I use MyFitnessPal.com and I know other people on here use SparkPeople.  You can also track your exercise on these sites to make sure you eat enough calories. </div><div>
</div><div>There's a sticky thread at the top of the page that I think has a list of food blogs, but a personal favorite of mine is SkinnyTaste: <a href="http://www.skinnytaste.com/" rel="nofollow">http://www.skinnytaste.com/</a></div><div>

Today is my birthday so I am being a bum and not going to the gym.  My fiance is making me dinner, I chose grilled fish and veggies (kinda making up for not going to the gym I suppose) and champagne!  Then I will lounge around on the couch with him and enjoy a restful evening.  I'm really milking the birthday thing, lol.
  • Leaving my car on the wrong side of the street last night forced me to get up early and go to the gym.  I didn't get enough sleep last night though, so my workout was only so-so.  I'm trying to do C25K, but my ankles hate jogging.  I was only on the treadmill 14 minutes, and that includes a 3 minute cool down.  On well, Friday is another day.  I made up the lost time on the bike, then did weights and stretched.  My shoulders are still sore from carrying my friend's son on them for 30 minutes last night, so I didn't push as hard as I normally would.  Still glad I went though.

  • oi I did ok yesterday with my eating till dinner..dun dun dun... I had a softball game last night which we had so many players I only got to play one inning :( which I'm not happy about at all but that's a whole nother story.  But my FI met some friends and I before the game for drinks and food so we shared a plate of nachos! I really hate myself for that plus I drank prob too many beers for my calorie intake so I didn't even want to add into my daily diary in my fitness plan.  Hopefully I can stay awake long enough today to get in a good workout after work today but I didn't get to be till an 1.5 after my bed time and was tossing and turning at 3:30 this morning till I got up at 5:30 so I'm pretty beat, but I just got some coffee and hopefully I can push through this exhaustion...
  • Yesterday I joined myfitnesspal, so I've been keeping a good eye on what I'm eating and drank a ton of water today! I took spinning at the gym, walked a couple miles, abs and stretched for a good half hour :)
