Thyroid update

So the doctor reported to me that all of my thyroid levels are normal. So.....that's good news. Now I think I'm going to focus more on my eating and examine that since I feel like I have the exercise aspect under control. I'm going to start The Zone at the end of this week so hopefully that will help. Thank you for the information regarding hypothryoidism that you ladies gave me and for sharing your experiences. If this doesn't work then I don't know what to do next :-/

Re: Thyroid update

  • Rosie, Mine came back "normal" for a long time too...so I started keeping copies of my bloodwork for myself.  Over the course of time there was a drop in my levels, still in the "normal" range, but they were decreasing each time.  I would ask for a referral to an endocrinologist and/or continue getting bloodwork and charting your levels to see if they are decreasing. Hang in there!
  • That's a good idea! Thanks! I think I'll start to keep track of them myself first. I have been feeling a little better....not as tired and such. So we'll see. Thanks for the information! :-)
  • I agree with Cyndi... I have had thyroid issues since 2003 on & off.. They said this last time that my thyroid was normal but I still have all the symptoms... which get better with taking my medicine. Alot of times they will tell you its normal even if it is just a little low.

  • Glad I could help!  :)  I was extremely frustrated with people telling me that I was "normal" but having my hair falling out like crazy, tired all of the time and achy joints that made me nuts.  My thyroid level is still considered to be in the "low normal" range, but there is a HUGE difference for me in taking the medication.  Also, I take a biotin supplement which seems to have helped with the hair loss/texture issues.GL!
