Slow down there, killer. How many people?

Grand Prairie - there's an old Food Lion turned into a wedding venue

    ETA I'm kidding.

Here is a great starting point. http://forums.theknot.com/Sites/theknot/Pages/Main.aspx/local-wedding-boards_texas-dallas-ft-worth_attn-looking-particular-vendor-start-here-please-vendor-list-dfw-venue-list

Are you open to DIY places?

I'm not so good with the advice... Can I interest you in a sarcastic comment?

What date are you looking for? The reason I ask is that many of the cost-effective venues get booked pretty far in advance since they are in high demand. Do you know what your venue budget is? Do you prefer a venue that allows for off-site catering? Are you willing to provide a good portion of decor?
  • Also, do you want your ceremony and your reception to be at the same place or are you getting married at a church?  And, if so, does your church allow onsite receptions?

Maybe the Ruth Jackson center in Grand Prairie? If you are open to Ft. Worth, the YWCA is popular.

  • What type of style do you have in mind for your wedding? Number of people #?

If Plano isn't to far I really like Event1013 for small weddings. And I've heard good things about their prices. But, it's more of a Lofty wedding feel.
  • Have you looked at Lofty Spaces in Dallas, Bob Duncan Center in Arl, Hilton Hotel in Arlington?
