More To Love

Did anyone else watch this last night? I thought it is cool ideabut was really upset for the girls that they showed height andweight! I don't know that helps the point of the show andbothered me. Thoughts?

Re: More To Love

  • Darn! I forgot about this show. What network is it on?
  • I tried to watch it and the cable was screwed up only on that channel! I was so bummed... I thought the height and weight thing was weird too, and hearing what I could watch from some of the girls it was clear that they were not comfortable with their weight... I kind of thought the point would be to show confident women who are not a size 2.

I was hoping someone would bring the show up. I watched the end of it and noticed that they listed the stats, how that is RELEVENT to finding love on the show is beyond me. What bothered me though is some of the womens defeatus attitudes. There was one who claimed she had never had a boyfriend before because of her weight. I know not everyone strives to be thin, and there is nothing wron gwith being larger - but if you are THAT upset about never having a boyfriend, you are willing to go to such lengths (parading your sad self on tv for the nation to gawk at), why would becoming more fit and healthy not enter your mind to help the problem.
  • Yeah i kind of dont even want to watch it.  For some reason I am just embarassed for those women.  Why does a show have to be called more to love, why arent women off all sizes on the bachelor or something like that?  I don't get the separation and I think it sends a really bad message.
  • Yes, I agree, the network (fox), made the girls out to besuper confident about themselves and were looking for loveregardless of their size.  This was NOT the case. Also, I understand they like to eat, but the first thing you aska guy is his favorite food and/or dessert? Is that all they willhave in common? I hope there is more. Last, why were the girls putting the rings on their left ringfingers .. you just met the guy :)
  • Man, I'm so sad it cut out!! What happened with the rings? And they asked him his favorite food?!? Classy, Fox, real classy.
  • Wow, maybe I won't watch it. I also thought the girls were going to be confident about their size.
  • Rings - they all get promise rings if they stay insteadof roses.  When they first got them girls were putting theirleft hand out and saying "I do" jokingly.  When the first ceremony came around, he put them all on their righthand (the proper place for it - IMO)Food - a bunch of the girls were asking about food!Another thing I forgot to mention.  The bachelor said he does not want to be with someone that is constantly watching what they eat and that he would rather someone who doesn't care.

A lot of them seem very insecure and upset that their weight has hindered a love life. From what I saw there was a lot of crying over that fact and only a few seemed happy and confident.
  • didn't understand the ring thing...."here is a ring to wear for an hour, then give it back and hopefully you will get it back again".  I also don't understand why someone who has never gone on a date decide that the best place for their first dating experience will be on a reality TV show w/ 20 other women for the world to watch.  Talk about an anti-self esteem booster.
  • Maybe I can hulu it tonight... I love me some craptacular reality dating shows! I kind of feel bad for the people, but only kind of because they signed up for this crap. If they didn't think they were going to be exploited one way or another, well, then they have other issues to deal with. The ring business is crazy but the rose is probably trademarked by now by ABC.

I didn't get a chance to watch it but I'm kind of disappointed in the idea of the show in general. Why do they need to make a whole new show out of it? Why can't they just put bigger, confident girls on the bachelor? Oh! Because the bachelor is always a shallow guy looking for a trophy wife!
  • I agree with kg and Mrs AF... I'm a little disgusted at the fact that a network created an entire show based around overweight people trying to find love. Way to single out a population, as though overweight women are some other category and have to be treated as such. I haven't watched it (saw the commercials). Ugh... it just frustrates me/annoys me/makes me sad that Fox is basically saing "hey look... let's see if someone can love a fat person and let the whole world watch". Sick.
