Eat Better America website

So I briefly checked out the Eat Better America website last night.....did anyone else catch at the bottom of the website that it is from General Mills (i.e. will probably push GM products in the "healthified" recipes)?Knowing that, will you still go to the website or do you not care?  Just curious.

Re: Eat Better America website

  • Hmmm that is very interesting, I will definitely be aware of that from now on. Sneaky little bastards!

  • I think you should be thinking the other way around ... GMhas been putting out a lot of healthy conscious products andin list their growth factors as: mainstream health trends, proven brands, taste, consumer insights, novel technology and marketing. You should read the following article:http://tinyurl.com/nnkpec
  • I dont really care...you can sub whatever brand you like.  I'm making the mexican skillet tonite.
  • I have not checked out the website, but thanks for turning me on to it!! I will check it out when I have more time. The fact that it is run by a food company doesn't bother me. I think more food companies need to jump on board with the healthier items.
  • I think it's a great way to showcase how you can use their products in a healthier manner and wish more food companies would do the same. That being said, I don't buy pre-packaged anything really because I have to eat gluten-free, so it doesn't bother me really. I tend to stick to the recipes that are completely from scratch.
  • I don't see any problem with it at all, and I would hope that someone wouldn't change their mind about a website/recipes because of it. ALL companies do that, you just sub whatever brand you have or is cheapest. Most recipe books will have brands listed because they pay to have their info in there. I don't see anything wrong with it.
