Getting in Shape

Friday P90X Accountability

Woohoo!  I feel awesome today, and I'm planning to do the Kenpo I couldn't do yesterday.  I think I will use yesterday as my rest day and finish out this week doing the regular version and not doubles.  I'll go back to doubles on Monday.  I've also got my second interview today.  It's a panel interview, so that should be interesting.  I have no idea how many people will make up the panel, but I've never been interviewed by more than three people simultaneously.  I'm sure it will be fine.Anyways, happy Friday!  I hope all of you have a great workout!  RXBeth, when I'm PMSing, I never want fiance to touch me because I feel bloated and gross no matter what I do. With how irritable I get at that point, he usually doesn't want to anyways.  :)

Re: Friday P90X Accountability

  • Good luck on the interview!  I have legs today :(  and  ab ripper. Have a good weekend!
  • Can you give me a run-down on how it works? Do you do one dvd every day, or do you combine some of them? Do you do additional cardio? Do you need the pull up bar?I can't seem to find this info anywhere. . .
  • You don't *need* the pull up bar, but you will need resistance bands with a door hook if you decide to go that route.  I think the pull up bar would end up being less expensive since you would need to have a combination of bands so you can increase the resistance as you get stronger.  You do one DVD a day unless you are doing doubles, and then it alternates for the second phase - you do Cardio X and then a strength DVD one day and then you do a cardio DVD the next day.  I do doubles so some days I add additional cardio at the gym and do not do the Cardio X DVD.  You will need a variety of weights.  I now have 5s, 8s, 10s, 12s and 15s and that seems to be good for right now.  I hope that helps.  I can send you the calendar so you can see the different routines and what DVD you do what day if you want to post your email address.

  • Hi LADIES...I'm new to this thread but was HAPPY to see it up here!  I've done P-90--finished my first 90 days July 31st and wondering what kind of results people are getting.  I did the lean version.  I got results, but NOT FANTASTIC ones.  I also didn't lose weight, in fact I gained some muscle mass.  What results have others gotten?
  • With regards to the results, I almost finished the lean version (I quit right towards the end because I was annoyed with no weight loss - even a few pounds gain). So my results annoyed me. My main issue was, on lean, there really wasn't enough cardio for me. I was used to running 10km 5 times a week and burning like 600 calories with every workout. I think my problem was the strength videos only burn like 150-250 calories for me and there is no way I could eat few enough calories to be satisfied and still lose weight with how I was used to eating before. Plus, cardio x isn't even challenging. I decided to bump back up my cardio and just pick and chose which which strength videos to do twice a week. I dropped like 5 pounds doing that.

  • nice...I figured as much, NOT ENOUGH CARDIO!  Thanks for the advice!I'm going to give that a try for the next few months and see what happens...OTHERWISE I'm going to have to cough-up some dough and get a trainer!  ugh...
