I went dress shopping early, just to get an idea (and because of David's annual sale...).  I had seen this dress online: http://www.davidsbridal.com/Product_Short-Strapless-Tafffeta-Sheath-Dress-N9781_Bridal-Gowns-Features-All-Gowns
and just loved the idea of it, but when I tried on the other one, I just knew that was the right one (though a bit dressier).

@DFWIndian: Oh, yay!  I'll have someone to compare timelines and whatnot with!

@serlace: We wanted to be "different" (yes, I know Vegas isn't as "different" as it once was). Especially my fiance - he has NO interest in a huge, traditional wedding... so this works for us!  Super short ceremony (and kind of a mini-pre-reception honeymoon) and a "party" vibe cocktail reception, where we still do all the little traditions (cake, dances, etc)... Hopefully it will end up being the best of both worlds! (that's my intention)

1) Love that you guys are using pink flamingos. We have a long loving family story to do with flamingos and I am very fond of them!

Ok, I'm going to be very honest. When I saw that dress online at DB, I didn't think anyone could pull it off....BUT!

Yeah, it was a lucky thing with my build (plus I'm a bit busty, and it actually worked really well with that for me!)
The way it "wraps" at the waist area actually really accentuates the waist (in a good way)...
My friends who have only seen it via picture were a little concerned about the belt/dropped waist being too much in the hips, but I was REALLY happy with how I looked (and felt, the most important part) in it

My one bummer on the dress: I ordered a size up just in case (they didn't have my size in store, so I wanted to be safe, as opposed to going small)... but I keep dropping weight!  (I'm in the National Guard, so I stay pretty active).  Seriously, my alterationist is going to have some work to do come spring!
