Poll: Soups

What is your favorite brand and flavor of canned soups? I'm trying to eat soup for lunch this week for something different. I had Progresso light low sodium vegetable today. It didn't get me excited. Tomorrow I have a Campbell's healthy request to try. You:

Re: Poll: Soups

  • I had progresso's minestrone last week, it was really good.
  • I had a chicken and dumplings soup a while ago that was so good and it was low sodium and low calorie.I believe it's made by Healthy Choice but I could be wrong.
  • Ditto Progresso's Minestrone. And as far as soups go it's not that good for you, but it's a soup so it's still not terrible - but Campbell's Chicken Corn Chowder...oh my... it is amazingness...

  • Progresso turkey noodle is amazing... The new cambells ones are good too. not healthy request but the other ones.. not sure the name.

  • the Lite Southwest Vegetable is really good, too.  i think it's Progresso.
  • You can make your own soup really easily, and then you'll have it for lunch all week!  Try this carrot soup recipe, it's really good and tastes creamy (idk why bc there is no cream in it):  http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Curried-Carrot-Soup/Detail.aspx
  • To be honest the healthy request ones suck, there is not enough flavour. I really like the campbells creations that they have out now - I normally split a can in two for lunches and they are full of flavour and filling. I have so far tried the tuscan meatball, chicken eggnoodle and clam chowder ones. I just bought the minestrone one and beef noodle one so I will let you know how they are.
  • I actually hate most canned soups and much prefer to make my own, which is way easier than it sounds. I'm making chicken stock as we speak with a leftover carcass from when I roasted a chicken last week.  The only canned soups I really like are bean soups- Progresso black bean and lentil are pretty good. And I don't really like noodles in my soup (I know, I'm crazy) but I think Progresso's chicken noodle is good. V8 came out with soups that come in a box- those are pretty good but kind of pricey. The 'light' soups are all gross to me- they taste like artificial sweetener or something and have a weird texture.
