You might try our recent venue thread for suggestions.  But...you better get moving 'cause you sure don't have much time.  (Of course, I guess you know that already!  :))

Another option is renting a restaurant (or a large party room). There was a thread about a few possibilities a while back (link) - scroll down near the end of that thread and you'll see a few suggestions of places that can host a large party.

depending on what you're looking for, and where in DFW you are. I would look at Surry House in McKinney
Hurd Natural science museum and preserve.
or some of the larger B&B's in the area.

I've looked at the Hurd and it can support the group in their Science Resource Center (reception room/big porch with a nice view). They're also affordable, but with that you may have to do some decorating.

    Best of luck!

I'm not sure if you have an indoor or outdoor preference but Ashton Gardens- Corinth (North Dallas) just opened and it is beautiful.  There are also places like ArtSpace 111 in Ft Worth, Old Red Museum in Dallas, La Cima Club in Las Colinas, Hotel Palomar in Dallas, Ricks Hotel in McKinney or the Dallas Arboretum/Ft Worth Botanical Gardens.  I'm sure on their availability but 1 quick call should tell you.  These locations could all be in your budget depending on food and alcohol requirements.  If I can help you with anything else feel free to e-mail me at info@jonathanivyphoto.com.  Good luck!

Try Maggiano's or The Heard Center for the Arts in McKinney.  On the Heard, you can bring your own beer and wine and catering...venue price in under $2000.  Maggiano's has very nice wedding packages.  Restaurants are a good idea becuase they generally don't have a room fee.

For the Heard Natural Science Museum, the city sued them & won for eminent domain to construct a sewer line through the middle of the preserve. Construction has started, so I don't know if that would detract from a wedding. Here's the pics on facebook: (link)

I was considering them for my wedding too. It made me really upset when I heard that they were going to destroy the land, and all for a sewer line. Frown

My venue has packages that could probably meet your needs. However, it's BYOB, and it doesn't include food. So, you would have to arrange all that yourself. But I know the venue itself, they have packages that are under 4k. It's called The Country Abbey, in Justin. I know they're pretty busy, so I'm not sure they would have anything in September but it couldn't hurt to check!

    Good luck!

not sure if you are looking for both ceremony and reception, but for reception you might look at The Italian Inn in Fort Worth... also check The Parsons Table in Aledo maybe... or there is also 809 at Vickery http://atvickery.com/

I am getting married at Cowboys Golf Club in Grapevine for about $4000 for 80 guests. I do know that since your wedding is so close that a lot of venues will work with you to get you in.  (mine is in October and I just booked it) Exp if you are filling a spot. I e-mail 3 places with minimums for 6k or more and they all got them close to the $4k that i needed you would be surprised what they can do if you ask.

Sorry this is bringing up an old post. But I've been looking into having the Heard Natural Science Museum in McKinney as a Ceremony/Reception Site. Does anyone know what the condition of the area is? If they are still putting in the sewer line? I would hope since that was in 2010, that they have but it back to a 'nature' setting. Cause the price, location, and everything would be perfect for my 40-50 people I want to invite.
