Lost 3 Pounds...Now Starting 30 Day Shred, What To Expect?

I was walking and biking for a while and I lost 3 pounds. I have also toned up as well.

Just bought Jillian Michaels 30 day shred...anyone else do it? What to expect?

  • That is a great DVD, I have a lot of hers! You will get toned and it's fun that each week changes just when you get bored. Week 4 is hard, but you'll look good!
  • I'm almost done with two months of the 30 day shred.  Expect to be sore on day 2 & 3!  It gets easier (well, you get stronger) and you will be impressed with the strength you'll gain by the end.  Follow a reduced calorie diet to see results.
  • I love 30 day shred. I've lost almost 20 inches doing mostly Jillian videos for the 3 months! I love her circuit training!
    If you keep track of what you eat (I used sparkpeople) you'll do amazing!!! I only keep track Mon-Fri because I don't like to be too strict on the weekends ;)

  • When you do 30 day shred for two months are you just repeating the DVD from the beginning in the second month or does it give you workouts for the second month?

    She recommends the workout 5-6 days per week as you're putting stress on your body and your body is forced to react quickly (meaning build muscle and burn calories!)  It is very effective if you push yourself.  I absolutely LOVE her workouts!

  • Thanks for the feedback. I was just asking because I know I've heard not to lift with the same muscle groups on consecutive days. I have the 30 day shred dvd and have been sort of using it as a filler (when I can't get my lift in at the gym) but if it's this great and gives such good results I may have to make it my main lifting workout!

    I rotate between levels 2 and 3 so I don't get bored of repeating the same workout.

    It's my understanding that this is true when lifting heavy weights.  The weights you'd use for her workouts would be "light" as you're doing such difficult moves.  I started with 3lbs and as I built up muscle switched to 5lb.  I'm now contemplating buying 8lbs soon.

  • How much weight do you have to lose that would put you in a "healthy weight?" My problem is that I only have about 15 pounds to lose (I'm actually within my healthy range, I just want to be more toned), and those last few pounds tend to be the hardest to work off. I did the Jillian's "ripped in 30" and didn't see all that much progress. Now I've graduated to insanity (which is 6 days of 40 minutes of high intensity training) and I'm just BARELY seeing any fat loss. 
    Just keep in mind that the less you have to lose, the slower it will come off. Remember that so you don't get burned out.

  • Starting the 30 day shred again on sunday!! only made it to level two last time, but that was before i had this shiny diamond on my finger as motivation!! best of luck, ladies!
