Getting in Shape

pole dancing anyone????

anyone with a less than perfect body attempted???  i am rather self-conscious  worried about all the skin they suggest you show to make using the pole worthwhile!!!

Re: pole dancing anyone????

  • Its REALLY fun! I went with a few coworkers with body types that run the spectrum and we all had a blast. You will be sore like you wont believe the day after...and thats a good thing! You work muscles you had no idea you even had. Also, its fun to get a little sexy, right? Its an all around confidence booster, I think.

  • My girlfriends took me as a surprise for my bachelorette party.  It was a ton of fun.

Here are a few pictures from that night: http://raynes.weebly.com/bachelorette-party.html

We could definitely feel it in our arms the next day.  And on our feet.  I'd suggest you wear socks!  We all ended up with bruises.

  • I've done Carmen Electra's Striperobics video and while that was just plain hilarious and not really a good workout, I'm sure actual pole dancing is intense! I might copy your bachelorette party idea, raynes...currently plotting how to tell MOH about this...

  • hahaha.... Raynes! That looks like so much fun! I liked your pizzaz pic!
  • Raynes i LOVED the pics. I've been telling my MOH i DO NOT want a stripper at my bachelorette party. I just might suggest that to her.

I've always been interested in this as a work out, but concerned about the other girls that will be there. (Also self-conscious about my figure) I think you, along with myself, should just go for it.

  • I WOULDNT DO POLE DANCING UNLESS I HAD A PERFECT BODD!!!!!!
  • I took classes for a while and some of the students were a bit larger, but some of them were amazing, strong and super confident.  I went to the S factor and they teach u more about confidence, workout and owning your body. if its a professional place, no one judges. great workout
  • ANYONE with any shape body can do pole dancing!

I've done it a few times.  It take a ton of upper body strength and it will definitley leave you sweating.  I take a cardio striptease class about 4 times a week and there are women of all body types and ages in there.  (there is a lady in her 60s who does it... and if she can do it, ANYONE can ;)

You'd be surprised how something like a pole dancing class, exercise class ot dance class can give you new found confidence.  Go for it!!!

  • I have been pole dancing for a year now, and I have the best abs and arms of my life.  The ladies in my classes are all body types and fitness backgrounds, and so are the instructors.   We have all bonded over our "nemesis" moves and encourage each other every step of the way.  None of us think we have "perfect bodies", but we definitely have strong and sexy bodies.

If you're considering this at all, I say DO IT.  It makes you feel sexier and more confident every minute of the day.
  • Anrea, looks like you had  A LOT  of fun! Love the pics!
  • I have been looking for a place like this I live in Baltimore, MD. Can anyone give me the name or location of a place because me and my bridesmaids are willing to travel? Or If anyone knows of a company or location that services my area. My bachelorette party is going to be in Atlantic City anyway. HELP!

I was looking for a place to realign myself after calling it quits with my ex-fiance and The Soultree Center not only helped me find myself again but it helped me discover things about myself I didn't know I was missing.

Karin, the founder, is an amazing woman who spent years developing the curriculum as she processed her own personal journey.  Her story is an amazing one and this studio became a nest of women with whom I felt safe and nurtured.  It was the best environment I could have asked for to recover, heal and renew my energy.  I feel grounded, secure and confident about the steps I am taking and the progress I am making in this journey of life.

My life is forever changed and my soul awakened because of my experience here.

Thank you Soultree! You are fabulously beautiful ladies who inspire me to dance with my head in the clouds and my feet on the ground!
