Getting in Shape

Recommend your...

...digital scale. I was going to Weight Watchers meetings at work and weighing in there, but I just got laid off and figured I should wait until I'm employed again to get a meetings membership, so I'm just doing online now.

I bought a WW scale at KMart this morning and it sucked, so I'm returning it. What do you guys use? I don't need any fancy features, I just want consistent measurements. Thanks!

  • I have a WW scale from Target.  What didn't you like about the one you got?

  • I have thrown away millions of digital scales.  I can't seem to find one that's consistent either.  Let me know if you find one.  I just always weigh in at the gym now.

  • I use the Tanita bod fat scale from Target.  Very accurate and lasts a really long time.

  • I have this one:

I bought it at Kohls to replace a really crappy (weight fluctuations) scale that I had bought a few years before.  I like it a lot.  I like that it can be programmed for multiple users so I can get a reminder of my last weight whenever I weigh in.
  • I bought a digital scale on BBB that I really like

  • I just got a $20ish dollar one from Walmart. No fancy features or anything. I've tested it out by weighing myself twice within a few minutes and it's consistent.

I bought the conair WW one from KMart... first it wouldn't turn on unless I picked it up and put it down every time (you're supposed to just tap it with your toes), then it gave me 3 different weights in a 3 pound weight range when I tried it three times in a row. Is yours the conair one or a different brand?

Is this the one you're talking about?

I have it and have had no problems with getting an accurate weight. Maybe yours is defective?

  • I think mine is a Conair, but I can't find it online anywhere, so they must not make it anymore.

I got about 5 different readings right after I took it out of the box too, but then it settled down and it's been fine since then!  I find it to be quite consistent, actually.

  • I bought a biggest loser glass scale a couple years ago at BBB. It is really accurate, I just went to the doctor the other day and my weight was the same on their scale as my home scale! I was pretty excited about that, as I usually weigh heavier on the "real" scale at the dr.

  • I just recently purchased a biggest loser scale, it cost like $45 but it is super accurate (I had recently been to the doctor and when I got home and hopped on the scale the numbers were spot on, maybe a couple ounces of variance). I would recommend it.
