Getting in Shape

Vent: Misreable Day

I was being very good today as I didn't exercise. However that all changed when I got home. I realized about 45 minutes after coming home that one of my cats was missing. I have 2 indoor cats. We had contractors here today working on our deck and they left the door open. FI forgot to tell them we have indoor cats and one escaped.

He is in the neighborhood we've walked around but he won't come to us. To make up for my being misreable I have had 3 glasses of wine tonight. Day is shot. I hope Tag returns tonight or tomorrow. We've told some of the neighbors and have found out that the cat he's hanging with belongs to one of them.

  • Awww so sorry to hear about your kitty! I remember once my cat went missing so I went around the entire area and talked to all of the neighbours (I was about 10 or 11)... eventually he turned up - in the neighbour's chimney!! Used up one of his nine lives that silly cat!

I'm sure Tag will come back when he's ready, they always do!

Wouldn't worry about your wine consumption... on bad days you just need a few glasses sometimes. :)

  • Thanks. The consensus from most is he will turn up when he gets hungry enough. I'm just a bit concerned about him getting in a fight with some of he strays in the neighborhood. His previous owner declawed him so he is defenseless.

  • Oh no!! :(  Here's wishing him a speedy homecoming, keep us updated!!  Is he totally declawed or just the front ones?

  • I hope he returns home very soon!  Just a thought, but what about putting something with your smell out on the porch?  I was just thinking it might heighten the smell of home?

Wow, it sounds like you've had 'one of those days'. It may be a huge bummer to notice all of the things that are wrong right now, and ever slip up with your diet and exercise may feel like it's amplified. But life happens. Tomorrow you can start over and one day of an extra glass of wine, or needing to make calls to neighbors instead of walk will be okay.

I always tell my nutrition clients, one day will not make or break you. Start tomorrow with the intention to make healthy choices.

As someone with indoor kitties too, I hope you find your firend.

Just his front ones are declawed so he's not completely defenseless.   Since their previous owner declawed them I knew they needed to be indoor kitties.  I've put out some food and a blanket that he sleeps on hoping it will help him recognize where home is.

A little ironic when I was getting the paperwork for his chip to make sure I had it I found on the adoption paperwork a note that says "can go outside but it is hard to get him back in"
